    SPC CHAMPIONS-NORTHWEST CABARRUS

NW beats AL Brown 12-4 in the championship game tonight at Veterans Field in Kannapolis. NW got HR's from Corey Seager (1) and Tanner Bigham (2) as the Trojans put up a total team effort at the plate. Weston Smith was the winning pitcher going five innings. Taylor West pitched the 6th & 7th. The Trojans will host SW Randolph Friday night in the first round of the State Playoffs.

If it's like other conferences, it will be announced after the last team in the conference completes their playoff run.

agreed. i noticed coach knight mentioned he would list them on the Central Cabarrus website right after the last CPC team finished their playoff run.

I'll have all-conference posted as soon as all SPC teams are out of the playoffs. It is an impressive list of players - and some excellent players were left OFF the team, which speaks to the depth in the conference this season.

Congrats to Coach Hubbard and Northwest Cabarrus on winning the inaugural SPC tournament....and good luck to all conference teams in the playoffs.

I'll have playoff updates on our site (www.ccvikingsbaseball.com) as they become available.

Coach Knight, you have a very impressive website with lots of great information. I love your "history" section, brings back memories. Notice your taking information, I know first hand about 3 former Viking players...

These 3 were all 4-year starters and tremendous players for CC's varsity,,,,, Jason Auten, pitcher/1B (2002,03,04,05),,,,,,,, Shelton Hames, shortstop (1975,76,77,78),,,,,,,,, Greg Johnson, catcher (1976,77,78,79).

In fact, just ran into Hames about 6 months ago,,, he and Johnson could really hit back in the wood bat days.

And btw, that 77 bunch that you have a picture of being CC's first conference championship team, also went to state semifinals, losing only to Steve Streater and eventual state champ Sylva-Webster HS.

Thanks TJ - appreciate the compliments on the website. It has been a lot of hard work to get it going, but it has also been a great addition to our program in many ways. Glad that others can benefit from it as well, as it is certainly a point of pride for Central Baseball.
I'll add those guys to the list - appreciate the help on that. I'm hoping to do more alumni stuff in years to come as I get the pleasure of meeting the many players that have helped shape the Vikings Baseball program.
Again - thanks for the heads up. Coach Knight
