Hey cheeze, i think most of them have already occurred. 2 or 3 of the teams have already been announced, including the west seniors and a couple of the regions

    Region 6 Tryouts

Region 6 tryouts are May 22 and 29 at Marvin Ridge HS. Go to www.ncfastpitch.org and click on State Games link for information. Most Regions have completed tryouts and rosters are posted and will continue to be posted on the Games website at www.ncsports.org.

I hate to read that some kids have been "left off the region teams".

Tryout info should be available on this forum and other areas as well.

No slander to Pops or TBR whatsoever, to me the HS coaches are to blame. Sorry that blame has to go somewhere but ........... Nuff said on that end of the equation

We all need to do a better job of getting the info out to the coaches and kids any way possible.

The NC State games are really cool and I highly reccommend them to all.

Thanks Pops, I know you must frustrated a little, but keep up your great work for our kids, we appreciate it.

The blame here has to go on the high school coaches. Some do a great job of getting the information to their players, and some don't say a thing. Of course these are the same coaches that do not nominate their own players for all conference and all state teams. My daughter is playing in her 2nd year on a State Games team. Each year there have been players that were there only because their friends from other schools told them about it. A lot of great players are missing out, but I don't know what else we can do.

    .....keep posting is one thing.

Look folks, we've all heard enough about the HS v. TB battles, and the State Games v. Dynamite Classic, etc., etc., ....and on and on.

All of these gigs are GREAT opportunities for our kids. I think that we can all agree on that.

What chaps my A$S is that HS coaches have the audacity to take a paycheck, and not have a clue what the hell is going on.

No doubt the $ that these teachers earn is pennies on the dollar timewise, but if you're gonna coach, then be the best that you can be. If that means staying up late and grading papers and then learning how to bunt on-line, then do it.

The kids are busting their butts and the least some of ya'll can do is put the cotten picken scores in the paper, win or lose.

There will never be an excuse for not trying to be your best. We expect that from our kids as coaches and the kids and parents expect the same out of you.

Sh#t or get off the pot!

My humble apologizies to TBR and the wholesome nature that needs to be geared towards in my post as ya'lls as well, but I'll throw myself under the bus on this one and take one for the team to make this point.:apeani:

    the dates were changed

The tryout dates for region 3 were changed. Only one tryout date remained the same as what is posted on the state games site. Also...check out the roster...6 girls made is from the HS team coached by the coach for the state games. Hmm..also some conferences in region 3 dont have anyone represented....what a joke! Why not call it the West Johnston High School state game team!

The coach of Region 3 is from Person High School in Roxboro. The West Johnston field is central to a number of schools from Region 3.

In years past, a number of regions have had schools that had a disproportionate number of players. North Davidson and Alexander Central are good examples, and they had very strong State Games teams.

Why should a kid that is otherwise qualified be restricted from trying out just because they attend the same school?

The State Games are open to all who are qualified to try out. Many emails were sent to let potential players know of the try out dates and also to encourage them to let other players know about the Games.

I think the Person coach should be commended for his willingness to travel from Person to West to coach the kids. All at his own expense!

Congratulations should be the order--not whining!
