Upset Specials...

    Alright, we all know who is expected to do well in the East...but what about the teams that could pull the upset that no one is looking for..you know, teams that have that one good pitcher who could dominate or maybe an offense that could outscore an opponent who chooses to save their ace for their second round game...

    Teams like South Central (upset Rocky Mount last year) or maybe Fike with two good pitchers and solid hitting...

    What say you oh masters of baseball prognostication...

    Nash Central, Broughton, Clayton..... one of these will pull off a 1st round upset.

    You hit the nail on the head with Nash Central & Clayton. Nash Central gave Rocky Mount all they could handle twice. Trellis Ashley, Jeremy Sloop, T.J. Taylor and the boys can certainly stage an upset. Clayton's a #4 seed, but I think will beat New Hanover, regardless of what the seedings say.

    Potential Upsets in the West

    North Meck can beat anyone one, especially if Spano is on.

    Lake Norman is a battle tested team, I wouldn't be shocked if they took out TC

    Mallard Creek as a 4 Seed is prime to take out 1 seed West Meck

    That was what I meant...

    That is what I meant for this thread to try to come up with...a team that is under the radar and has that one or two good players that could make the difference in an upset...

    Rule # 1

    To avoid being upset:
    1. Don't save pitching! Never save your #1 for that big 2nd round matchup that never comes.

    In that Parkland upset of Ragsdale last year, there was alot of discussion later that Nick McBride was being saved for the East Rowan game in the 2nd round.
