    Somebody mentioned this, but Mallard Creek is the team to watch. If Blaine Lewis is back from injury, he will make a very good team even better.

    actually it would be an upset if west meck could beat Mallard Creek.
    Mallard Creek will roll on to victory.

    Garner over Hoggard (Baker could upset #1 Hoggard)
    Green Hope over Wakefield (GH's Pistacchio is real deal)

    Lee County over Millbrook (I like Lee's ace a lot in this one.. Dillon Frye)
    Hoke over Middle Creek

    I'll go with Wilson Fike over West Carteret.....and Fike has 3 good pitchers; Prince, Wheeler and McLawhorn and good defense.

    The bats just need to heat up at the right time.

    I'm not talking about 1st round only...I'm suggesting they are good enough to represent the West. They are in a favorable bracket...and we are talking about upsets.

    #5 Kannapolis over #1 Charlotte Catholic behind John J Tuttle. :dead-horse-fast2:
    Mallard Creek and North Meck could surprise in 4A.
    Carson and Mount Pleasant in 3A. (Carson can flat hit the ball and MP has depth with pitching)

    I agree that a healthy Blaine Lewis would help, but who else other than the Hill kid can make a difference for them?

    PJ Smith, Diego Perez, Kirk Morgan, Jamel Harbison, John Murray and Tyler McCarthy are all very good ballplayers. Add them with Mikal and Blaine and they can make some noise.

    Wilkerson- CF and Boles-Pitcher for Mallard Creek are very good players as well, both only juniors I think.
