The best scouting a coach could do is of his OWN team, play your best available players and play YOUR game. The playoffs is not a very good time to change what got ya here. (I think the fine folks of Mooresville would agree with that.) :furious3:

Well, there is in fact a thread on this board (from this week) that actually asks for "hitters, pitchers, etc." for an upcoming team. I don't think anyone replied, but that is the kind of stuff I'm talking about. And no, I don't know if the poster was a coach or parent; but why would you ask for best players/performers unless you wanted to use i the info? Further, I have had several coaches (some I could name who are respected) contact me to ask info about teams in my own conference. Just a sore spot I maybe need to let go.

If you were offering info to a college coach or scout, then please pardon my assumption otherwise. Maybe I need to NOT assume the worst.

Finally, I don't see getting in my car to go see a team 50 miles away (opposing conference) and then sharing that info with another coach in my local conference as the same as "giving up" info on a team I played three weeks earlier. Some would give info on the team "played three weeks ago" because they are conference rivals who they don't want to play again, or never care to see win. [Duke/Carolina kind of thing] Maybe I am wrong on this point, but I don't see it as contradictory/oxymoronic.

HEY, in all this, did you call me a MORON?
I guess it could be worse...

Link please? I read most thread starters and I don't recall any thread asking for that info. If someone replied in a post, I'd like to see that too. I know most of the coaches that post on here and they have never asked those kind of questions...ever. Honestly, what brain dead coach would try to get a scouting report from a messageboard.

However, we do have many baseball savvy members that are HS & college coaches, professional scouts, umpires and people that love the game that could provide some onfo of a team they have seen, but they have never given a scouting report.

Since you're new to the board, I believe you will find that anyone asking for information on teams are parents that are interested in knowing about an unknown team they are facing

Anyway, before I go on about this, I'll wait until I see the link you are talking about.

I don't know what point you are trying to make here? Either it's okay to get 'scouting" reports or it's not. Personally, I could care less that a team of mine is scouted. If they believe they can find tendencies after watching one game....oh lord. They'll have no clue. If Coach Jim Bob has an uncle on his mother's side that has a Coach that has played me and he wants to ask about my team....go for it. But please don't tell me because I wouldn't be able to stop laughing.

But getting back to a point you did make. Some parent asking who a team's best pitchers and hitters are is not a scouting report. I can't wait to see that link so I know what you are calling a scouting report.

Hahaha....you've been on too many other boards

    Wesleyan Christian...6 Charlotte Country Day...1

    WC.....030 000 3...6..4..0
    CCDS..010 000 0...1..6..5

    Winning Pitcher: Bennett Hixson (7IP, 1R, 1ER, 6H, 9K, 2BB)
    Losing Pitcher: William Frazier (7IP, 6R, 1ER, 4H, 6K, 2BB)

The semi-finals of the NCISAA State playoffs saw Wesleyan Christian and Charlotte Country Day meet with the winner advancing to the three-game championship series. Both pitchers went the distance and Wesleyan's Bennett Hixson showed great command of his curveball to record 9 strikeouts and scatter 6 singles, fighting off leg cramps to finish the game. Country Day's William Frazier only allowed four balls into the outfield grass the entire game (three flyouts and a 7th inning single that made it through the right side of the infield), but the Wesleyan team put on an impressive display of "small ball" to come out victorious, combining two infield hits, a walk, two errors, and two squeeze plays to plate three runs in the 3rd inning and then duplicated the feat in the 7th inning with a leadoff single, a walk, two more errors, a fielder's choice, another infield single on a bunt, a passed ball and two more successful squeeze plays to score three more runs.

    Leading hitters:

    CCDS: Colin Walls 2-3
    CCDS: Lee Harrison 1-3, RBI
    WC: Casey Corn 2-3

Alexander Central was leading South Caldwell 14-0 in the 5th. I ran to take cover because a storm was approaching. Cougars jumped on top 5-0 in the 1st inning. If anyone has the final, post it.
