2010 High School Scores

Wow. Perfect definition of poor sportsmanship. Foard has a great ballteam. Hats off to them. AC is just a better team, because of that "coach" you're talking about. He demands excellence, so that's what he gets. Sure he's hard on them. But you ask his former players how much better he made them. What should he have been thrown out for ? Arguing over the play at the plate that Krider was safe by 3 feet on ? That wasn't even a close play. I've heard people say they would never play for him, then they played for him, and loved him. He's a great coach and even a better person. But you wouldn't give him that chance.

 

You watch them take infield and you know that there's no reason they shouldn't be able to handle any situation in the game. If they handle him day after day pushing them, when they get in a tough spot in the state championship like last year then they know what to do. I think the teams from this conference will do great. People should look at the talent being wasted at Foard rather than dissing AC's coach that demands excellence from girls that otherwise may not have reached it. Just my 2 cents.

GOOD MORNING CHEEZE105!...I was wondering when you were going to step in...biting my bottom lip-I'm with ya on this one!

 

Hey TBR...I was at the AC-Foard game last nite...all I saw was a very competative game between two very competative teams with two coaches who want to win!...yes, the umpiring was suspect as it depends on who you are pulling for...To me, it just didn't look like Wilkinson brought her "A" game, and I thought it was a good move on the Foard coaches part to start Crouse instead of Shubert, give AC a different look early! Almost worked too!....1 run in the 1st and 3 up, 3 down in the 2nd. She brought Shubert in the 3rd with 2 on and no outs....AC just got timely hits and an error on Foard allowed AC to pull ahead! I think that Foard will go far in the 3A State playoffs....Good luck to them! AC will need Wilkinson to "settle down", get ahead in the count as she has all season and they will be fine, the hitting is there! 1 thru 9, everyone is contributing! And about our coach, all he does is win! Love him or hate him, what you see, is what you get! All I hear from the Hickory fans is how "unsportsmanship" it was to "run up the score" on their girls....tell that to the Hickory girls basketball coach the next time she "presses full court" with a 30 point lead on AC....some of these coaches dont forget!....anyway, didnt mean to ramble on....GOOD LUCK to all the teams in the Northwestern 4A/3A in their pursuit of state championships!

 

NOT THAT I HAVE A SAY IN THIS TOPIC-DON'T HAVE A DAUGHTER IN HIGH SCHOOL YET...I'VE HAD THE PRIVILEDGE OF HAVING SEVERAL OF HIS(COACH SHERRILL) BALL PLAYERS-EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM HOLD THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR HIM AND HIS PROGRAM-OF COURSE THATS WHY HE HOLDS THE HIGHEST WINNING PERCENTAGE(HIGH SCHOOL) IN THE NATION. IT ALL STARTS WITH TRAVELING BALL , BE IT BASKETBALL OR SOFTBALL - LETS FACE IT, HICKORY HIGH HAS "THE EXPRESS" AN AAU BASKETBALL TRAVELING ORGANIZATION THAT FILTERS INTO THERE PROGRAM. NOW ON THE AC SIDE ,YOU HAVE SEVERAL TEAMS AND ORGANIZATION (I COULD PROBABLY NAME ATLEAST 8) THAT ALL FILTERS INTO ACHS.....COACH SHERRILL WOULDN'T HOLD BACK! I'VE ENJOYED THE CONF. TOURNAMENT THIS WEEK - ESPECIALLY UP THAT WAY IN "SOFTBALL COUNTRY". I STILL HOLD A GREAT DEAL OF RESPECT AND APPRECIATE FOR WHAT HE'S BROUGHT TO THIS SIDE OF THE STATE. I ALSO LOOK FOWARD IN WATCHING HIM AND HIS GIRLS PURSUIT FOR THE STATE TITLE THIS YEAR. MY BETS ON ACHS WHEN IT COMES TO SOFTBALL AND ITS ALL BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY DO! NOW AS FOR THE CROUSE KID-SHE PLAYS FOR ME AND DOES A TREMENDEOUS JOB-SHE CONTROLS THE BATTERS AND MY DEFENSE CONTROLS THE GAME. YOU'RE PITCHER IS AS GOOD AS YOUR DEFENSE AND FROM WHAT I SEEN LAST NIGHT IT ALL STARTED WITH WITH A DROPPED ROUTINE FLY BALL BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND BASE(WOULD HAD BEEN THE THE 3RD OUT). ONE MORE THING ABOUT THE CROUSE KID-IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN-SHE HAD TWO RBI'S...THATS ONE KID TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR!
