    bank in field of play

at south point there is a BANK or incline whatever you may call it...it extends from the lf line to the left center area...FENCE is behind this incline.... can someone explain how that is legal to have on a playing field?
    thanks!

Reminds of old Crosley Field in Cincinatti. I played on many fields like that and some that were more challenging. I thought it was strange though that Detroit built a huge new ballpark with an inclined OF. There is nothing illegal about it, but you don't see them very often anymore.

Try playing a game with no infield grass and it appeared to be more rocks than dirt....you learned to play the caroms.

With WF and Providence out, who's next on the upset list for the second round?

    How about......

North Meck over North Davidson; hard to judge ND since none of its victories came against the remaining 4A playoff teams except for 8-7 victories over Davie (11-10) and a 7-6 win against AC Reynolds, which had to win its last three games of the year just to make the playoffs after struggling through a 10-game stretch that produced only two victories.

North Meck is a scary team, you just don't know which one will show up. At times this year they appeared to be one of the best in the state; other times they looked...I guess disinterested is the nicest way of putting it.

If they come to play, they can be unbeatable.

So this is a good upset pick.

Dont let those two games fool you, North Davidson is a very good team. They have great pitching, even outside of Ramsey in Sechrest (UNCW) and Tippet (especially if a team hasnt faced him before) and there line up from top to bottom is stacked. But with that being said they're beatable and it should be a great game.

    Nail...On...Head

People are always saying this guy's the best, that guy is the best, but for those that haven't batted against Ramsey...he's a nightmare.

AC's beating of South Caldwell sure feels like a statement game. Seems like them reaching the sectionals is definitely within reach. would say a wild card making it that far would have to be considered an upset...

Makes for an interesting home field advantage. I don't know that there are any rules that state that an incline can't exist. The only game I ever watched at South Point was a victory for the visitors, so it made no difference that night.
