Rose v. Pinecrest

I went to the Rose v. Pincrest game Tuesday and it was one of the best high school I have ever been too. I am a longtime supporter of Rose athletics and this group under the leadership of RV never quits like Rose teams have in the past.

Maples is a heck of a pitcher and he an UNC Asheville commit Tommy Houmard battled it out the whole game. I believe Maples struck out 14 in 6 innings, getting lifted in the 7th. Houmard threw a 7 inning complete game and stuck out 12.

Maples had a no hitter with 1 out in the 6th, when Warren Harvey broke up the no-no with a single to left fielder. After that Maples lost some control and walked in 2 runs, the third run was scored on bases loaded infield single by Bryan Quintard and the game winner was scored on a strike out past ball with the bases loaded.

Chase McDonald made a great play to end the game. With 2 outs and James Baldwin on second. Maples hit a slow groundball to short the throw didnt get to first in time on a tough play, Chase seeing Baldwin round third to far laced it over to Harvey at third who tagged Baldwin trying to slide back to third to secure the win.

You've got to be kidding with that statement. Rose teams quit?

 

Meant that statement to read. This team is like previous Rose teams that never give up. Sorry

ECU88, thanks for posting - these Rose kids are battlers and it was a hard fought game on both sides. The pitchers were excellent.

 

I heard RV had the word "quit" whited-out in all the Webster Dictionaries in the school library.
