    Congrats Dave. Both Baseballman and myself shared that same journey with you. I'm proud of Michael for persevering that long and winding road. You're right, it does reveal his character.

    Today my son and I attended a high school playoff game. My son is junior high age and loves baseball and the "older guys" in high school. He has watched them progress through rec ball, jr. high ball and now high school. He idolizes these guys to say the least. One "idol" slammed a helmet after striking out, another "idol" threw his hat down in disgust after giving up a homer and a third "idol" suggested to the fans of the other team that "they were #1" by the sign he gave them. And they all stayed in the game till the end. Take me back to the good ol' days please!!! I'd rather lose with sportsmanship than win classless. Set 'em on the bench. My son is currently seeking new "idols" (other than his old man, of course, lol!!).

    Please don't post names. This is a great thread. I don't want to close it due to stirring the pot. It was a worthwhile point, but let's don't let it become personal by listing names

    Is it legal to post this?....

    ....My son graduated from Greenville Rose in 2009, had a pretty good high school pitching career including a complete game win in the clinching 2008 4A state championship game against Ardrey Kell. He had a few college scholarships offers but chose the academic route and just finished his freshman year at UNC with a 3.97 GPA (biology major). That wouldn't be a very good ERA but it is a heck of a college GPA. I was so proud of his baseball but I must say I am even prouder of his school work.

    Nice Combination!

    State Championship + 3.97 GPA + UNC student = :SCA+HL::bottomup::clap::fan_wave2::cheers2:
