    hanging out for # 8

NCSU & UNC both win tonight.

BC lost today to GT so State and BC are tied with 13 wins each, and UNC has 12 wins.

...at the NCSU game today, I heard that if BC loses all 3 then UNC and NCSU go to the ACCs.

don't think it's that simple. State and BC could stay tied in # of wins, and BC swept State in head to head. Then it would depend on the UNC/VT series result because UNC could get to 14 wins.
If State / UNC tie, UNC won that head to head.
BC & UNC did not play so if they tie, it would go to results vs. 1st place teams. Don't know the details of that situation.

    GOOOOOOD NIGHT!!!!!!!

Cicen just hit a rope off the fence to score the runner on 2B for a 7-6 12 inning win and a berth to the ACC tourney.

    Duke 18 hits...16 singles.

    NCSU 6 hits ....3 HRs.

Saturdays game v. Duke is big for the possible berth into the NCAAs.

ACC tourney is a lock now so lets raise the bar by winning Sat. and 1 or 2 or all games in the ACCs to a nice bid.

Props to the Pack for coming back down 6-5 in the 9th to tie the score and then man up in the 12th with 2 doubles to win the game.

    HRs by HR......

.................I get it, HRs by Harold Riggins.

Now EastBuddy, give us your take on UNC and NCSU getting past the ACCs and into the NCAAs.........and I know you're a ABCer, (i love that) but as an astute sports person, whats up? Do they need to win 1 or 2 games in the ACCs to move on?

NCSU, UNC, & BC win today.
NCSU is 7th seed. UNC &BC tie for 8th spot.
I have read that BC owns tie breaker.
    Hope i'm wrong.

they sound confident even w/o qualifying for the ACC Tourney

........yes, the R strands for Riggins, thanks for the correction.
I think that if State wins 2 or more games in the tourney, they should make a regional. They have series wins vs. UVa. & GT. I heard their rpi is not good. Too many weak non-conf foes.

As for the heels, they will be watching the ACC Tournament from their easy chairs on the Hill, and no doubt politic'ing behind the scenes for a NCAA berth.
Their radio announcers actually sounded fairly confident about being in a regional but did concede the heels would likely be on the road to some far away destination.
    Are you kidding me?????

You gotta think that these 6 are in: Va., Clemson, FSU, GT, Miami, & VT. Could the ACC send 7 or 8 or 9 teams?? does non-ACC tourney participant UNC get in over ACC-tourney bound BC?? wow. we'll see.

Go Pack. It would have been bad not making the ACC Tourn 2 consecutive years. A monkey off their back.
