OK, legitimately now, have you been on their field? Also, have you played on a cow pasture?

It gets a little - well, I don't know the word, but it's bad - when people knock others' fields. Some programs have more money/support. Some, like East, are FORCED to allow the soccer team to practice on their game field in the fall. They simply can't do anything about that. Why knock their field? Why be so critical? Their team - the actual human players - are in the regional finals. So maybe you've got a pristine playing surface. Is your team playing on it this week? Tell you what... get your lawn chairs and you and your team have a picnic on your surface Friday night. But why bash another program's facility?

And by the way, to my knowlege, their field has not cost any team a game there this season. Also, a lot of what they (East) hit leaves the "pasture" (never touching the turf), and a lot of the other teams don't hit balls onto the pasture because of their pitching.

    And "kitty", why be condescending?
And I'm sure I'm the one who is out of line here. Sorry.

Before they moved the fence in to remove the hazard of a hill at the fence it was 345' LF 405' CF and 365' RF but that was with the fence goin around the drain in right. Now I would think the fence is 340' LF, 375-385' CF, and 340' RF...the field definately plays smaller because of the lovely jet stream that blows off the top of the hill where most of the spectators watch the game from. It was my home field for 4 years and I have to say from where it was when I was there to where it is now, it is completely changed for the better. Coach Plaster and Chad Loflin have spent a lot of time out there fixing up the field for these kids!

I wasn't talking about the well-qualified humans that play on that field. They are very good ball players. I was talking about the field. And I guess I wasn't wrong when I asked you to settle down...clearly, you didn't.

    Carry on....

Really, I'm OK. Just making a point. [Good old internet tone inference again!]

I'm just saying that bashing others' fields is a little wrong. Some are doing all they can with what they have, maybe even working harder to have less. Others are more fortunate to have newer schools/facilities or more supportive/available/wealthy/resourceful parents - none of which is bad or to be begrudged. But the former shouldn't be knocked for some clover and a few rye clumps that don't mow out flatly.

I'm truly am NOT the type (as I want my field as good as possible and try to invest in it), but some would criticize the need for 1000s of dollars annually used to prep/repair/recover/seed/sod a local field that only ~30 kids use for 4 months. Again, I am NOT one of those, but I won't knock somebody who doesn't.

    Friends?...

    Absolutely!

I wish your guys the best - and you're right...I'm certain the unsuspecting teams that lost at the hands of East could no way blame the field for those losses. I'm certain of that in our team's case.

Would you believe they're not even my guys? (Uh "CATcoach"...)
I just know the team and coaches, and that they do work on the facility as they can.

"My" guys were some of those "unsuspecting" that "lost at the hands" as well...

HEY, GLAD WE'RE FRIENDS! (I LOVE TO SHOUT!:laugh1:)
