grahamcracker, calling a game early is different issue completely, that decision is up to umpires and rules that are in place.

This decision of making these boys ride a bus 6 hours roundtrip and then making them attend school (or not play), this decision was made by a school administrator WHO WORKS FOR THEIR OWN SCHOOL. Folks have mentioned a tired bus driver or slowed reflexes for the players during the game, those are just 2 obvious reasons this is poor judgement.

it's different on its own merits but it's more of an overall bigger picture issue when it comes to the NCHSAA. regardless of the administrator's decision, why is he or she put in that position in the first place?

why wouldn't the NCHSAA have rules in place that would require 7 innings of baseball? Why would the NCHSAA have rules in place that would give one team a distinct advantage over an evenly seeded team in a two out of three series?

Why wouldn't the NCHSAA have rules in place that would require a Friday night game and a doubleheader Saturday so students wouldn't have to miss school? Why wouldn't the NCHSAA have specific hard and fast rules in place that would address what should be done if a host school doesn't have lights?

Why does the NCHSAA exist? Why not have the coaches form their own association?

What the NCHSAA is doing is predetermining seedings and conference rankings before the season starts. Imagine if pro or college sports did the same? Tuscola should have at least one home game or all 3 games should be played at a neutral site.

    my 2 cents....

.....if the set-up were a good one, they wouldn't change it so much----and these last minute decisions show little thought----RIGHT NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE POLICY for next year, get feedback from all the schools, and have it all SET IN STONE for next year, by FEB. 1 2011 !!:N1yeeaah:

I'll even volunteer to help 'em, if they won't tell anybody I did!

grahamcracker, actually I thought they played these series on Friday night (1 game) and Saturday (2 games) too,,,,,,,,, kinda scratched my head when I first heard about them starting on Thursday night with school next morning.

Hey we all have issues with NCHSAA, why they do some of the things they do is beyond me, I certainly can't defend some of the stupid sh*t I've seen them do thru the years. Heck my youngest son's senior year, they put us in a conference where EVERY SINGLE conference game was one-hour drive ONE WAY (except for one opponent- Con). My problem is that since we all agree that the NCHSAA is truly the evil empire, I just hate these Tuscola boys were screwed again by their own athletic director. Thats all.

    Doc, see ya tonight.
