    Strikeout Record

    I thought 309 Stikeout's in a season could be a State Record. Checked to see and the State Record is 482 by Mendy McKenzie in 2005.

    Eva Herron, Enloe HS, NC Challengers (Ray McGee), ECU, struck out only one time during her HS career.

    She had one strikeout at Worthdale park in Raleigh, playing against Southeast Raleigh the day after an article in the News & Observer about this accomplishment.

    I was sitting in the bleachers behind home plate. It was a called third strike. The pitch was almost shoulder high. Bad call!

    I was an asst coach on the SE Raleigh team...... first year program...
    don't remember the pitchers name..... it was high.... no instant replay!!

    Pitcher was Amanda. But I can't remember her last name. Also played at Wilders Grove.

    Regular season?

    ....I see where Leah Jones is listed first in the HR category with 15 as of June 3, 2010. But in another thread it has her with having hit her 16th and 17th that week. The post was dated May 22, 2010.

    Does NCpreps recognize stats in playoffs?

    Just asking.

    Props to all our kids and their awesome play!!!!!!!!!

    Site has been updated with some new names! Leah Jones homerun record has been updated also, she actually hit 18 bombs this year. NC State is getting a good one!

    Haley Klemm Richland 20 Doubles

    Sarah Wornock Southwest Guilford 12 Triples

    This kid hit the most HR's west of the Pee Dee River of all Western N.C....3rd in the state behind Leah Jones & Dallas Heaton... Just learned this week she throws 76 mph over-handed at 40'-0, must have a cannon Gardner Webb getting a good one...:thud:

    I have seen this kid in person what an amazing player she is, will definately be watching for her to do big things in college!
