Any updates on E Randolph

If necessary game should be well underway right?

 

Eastern Randolph won 9-2.

SWR-(a little partial) Love you all, 5 straight trips, 3 championships, 2 in a row..Way to go COUGARS!!!!

 

Congratulations to Eastern Randolph... a very good team that played very well.

Congratulations to Central Davidson. Five years straight in the state championship game with three of those five years in a row winning it all. Not many have done that.

 

Playing at the local colleges would be great but dont think the parking would be any better in fact in most cases it would be far worse...

Other HS State events are held at NC State and UNC such as swimming, there is no reason that softball cant do the same. They could rotate. It would be nice to see the games in the middle of the state once in a while too or maybe the western part of the state.

I think the big reason for holding it at a complex [like Walnut creek] is so that all the games are at the same time and the same place for better spectator enjoyment and logistics for umps, etc... it just doesnt have to be held at a poorly maintained one.

 

I get more disappointed with Walnut Creek everytime I attend a tournament there. Does the NCHSAA not listen or not care ? In the last 5 years there has not been a favorable post about this location for the state championship!! The field conditions were horrible. 6-8 inch lip on the infield/ outfield connection. On my T/B team my centerfielder had her nose broke a few years ago when she charged a hard ground ball and the ball hit the lip. I almost got motion sickness looking at the wavy lines and the field contour. MOVE THE GAMES TO A FACILITY DESERVING OF A CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY !!

As far at playing away from WC. Other than playing at UNC or State or UNCC or some other college stadium and splitting up the 1a-4a venue. Can any one on here name a 4 or 5 field complex that could give a high quality playing surface that could hold this event that would be pleasing to all?

Cherry Park in Rock Hill....... NC championships playing in SC ..not.... nothing against SC

 

Catawba Meadows in Morganton is one that comes to mind.For that matter Hurley Park in Salisbury is better than WC,that place is pathetic.

 

There are other places beside State and Carolina with Nice Stadiums

Western, UNCG & ECU (coming this fall, probably the state's best) are all great venues.
