Saw Shubert pitch in the fall. She is awsome. It was no surprise that she went to play for Stan and the Sting, but don't rule out the Sting bats either. 48 runs in 6 games against strong competition (was told there were many girls there who have already played a year in college) was a big help to the pitching staff.

Will the Sting be playing in the Early Bird classic next weekend?

Lexi is one of the best around right now. She shows how important movement is. She has real movement on all her pitches, and it's hard for the batter to get it solid. Congrats to the Sting! They eliminated us in the first round, and hit the ball well all weekend.

Foothills HEAT lost to the Curve and Sting, and won againt Maryville Magic and Catawba River Rage.

I don't think Sting is playing due to graduation. It's always a tough weekend when you have seniors. You'll see a lot of college freshmen and a lot of young kids. Most of the 2010's will be graduating and going on their trips, deservedly so.

We would like to say "THANKS" all teams that played in this tournament for the Pope family. Also thanks to UpperDeck Sports & Mizuno for all the support and give aways.
To those of you who was not able to attend Ashlyn pitched to one batter Saturday night and that was the best moment of the tournament. I don't think they was a dry eye on anyone who was watching her pitch. Please contniue to pray for this family, her father is ill and has a battle ahead of him, and Ashlyn has a long road still ahead of her.

The softball family is one that plays together and stays together!!!!

Below is the results for the tournament

    12U
    1st Carolina Power
    2nd CV Storm

    High School
    1st Enka Express
    2nd Carolina Hit-N-Run

    18u
    1st Smokey Mtn. Sting
    2nd Carolina Curve

Who cares about getting struck out or hitting a homerun when it comes in a benefit for Ash. Pope?.........wait, stay with me now..................SHE DOES! Dog gone right giving props to all who have supported Ash! And whether you as a pitcher gave up 10 homeruns or you as a batter went 4-4, whatever, its all an honor to a kid who I'm sure appreciates all of you guys

Pat yourself on your back whether you went down swingin' or clocked one 250.....and then take time to hug your mom and dad, and then think.... think about how good you have it!

Even stronger Amen if you were there for the time of prayer and could hear the constant obstacles this family has faced through the past year. It will get you away from your own pity party in a hurry.

Couldn't be there and not be touched and be made prayful for the Pope family.....thankful for the example of faith they are.....and thankful for each of the gifts God has put in our lives.

Puts everything in a little different perspective when you focus on the things that are really important.
