I find myself guilty of allowing things that should of gone to the Next Level forum to be posted in preps.

talking to the other mods, we think that this needs to stop and we need to support the Next Level Forum.

So, basically, if a player has graduated from hs, all references for this player need to be in the next level forum, along with references to college, college tournaments, etc, etc. you all know what i mean.

discussing plays in the college world series that affects our girls in preps is no problem, but a play by play of every world series game needs to be in the other forum.

i think that in doing this, it will allow us to focus on the preps crowd and solidify the line between hs and college.

    work with us people!!

It would be convenient to include all of fastpitch here but I guess there are good reasons why not. But it sure seems they go hand in hand.

....yes it would be convenient, but by the same token, the kids who have gone on to college are at the Next Level.
Its not fair to the HS/TB kids today to not have their day in the sun.
Maybe the time will come that Preps and Next Level will be fused into one fastpitch site, but in the mean time, I respect what the mods do for TBR and when and if the time comes for the two to be hand in hand, then they'll be the first to let us know.

My only worry is that many of the users of the preps have kids who are no longer in HS/TB. Will they abandon Preps? Will they take their ball and go home, lol?
Seriously, theres a place for using the Next Level kids and gigs that some of the TBR smarts see in college games and recruiting etc. that is very important to our next class, so on, and so on.

If a kid pitches a perfect game in the college world series and she played for the Blues or Dominators, Sting, Lightning......whoever!, then its news, bigtime news, so maybe the way to handle that is to have the Admin. of "said" HS/TB team write a post about his team and how cool it is for one of their alumni having a remarkable game.

I look forward to seeing just that post someday!

NC fastpitch is on the way up, it started a few years ago and is perpetuated by the kids playing now.

    Cool.

Props to all the girls, play your best and keep up the good work and we'll post responsibly..............most of the time anyway,

yes it would be convient, but i feel that we need to have a seperate forum for middle schoolers and high schoolers.

we know that the next level is not as active as preps, but i think that one of the reasons is that only about 1 of 25 girls makes it to college and i'm probably being nice at that estimate, so we dont have as much to write about.

bring a special accomplishment back to preps is not a problem, maybe posting a short reference in preps and posting the story in the next level.

maybe someday we will have a combined forum, but right now, we're just preps.......

The next level is mixed with all other college sports and it is not under softball over here. Many who post in the next level do not show what sport the post is about so you have to go hunting for the softball next level threads.

It doesnt make any sense to separate the threads because the interest is fast pitch softball. This forum is called PREPS - SOFTBALL but contains all of fastpitch from 8U to 18U, travel ball, rec league, little league, showcase and High School. 50% of the threads in PREPS - SOFTBALL are not Highschool.... But college fastpitch is thrown out and combined with other college sports...

I run this same forum software(vBulletin 3.8.x) for my business and I know it would take about 5 minutes to create a single forum for softball that could have sub forums of Travel/Rec Softball, High School, and College under it. This would keep the whole family together. A sub forum of "Looking for..." could be included to let people looking for teams or players or tournaments or games to have a separate area too.... all under one heading of SOFTBALL. I dont get what the big deal is about changing the forum layout a little bit... like I said, 5 minutes in the admin panel....

Sorry for the run on about this but the forum needs to follow what the herd wants to do and not try to make the herd comply with it. The herd obviously wants all of softball together as shown by the interest to post college related stuff here.

i understand the original concept, forums to promote youth softball and then a forum to salute the college level players. i always felt it was a sound idea and it worked quite well up to this point. last couple of months, more things have been posted in preps that really needed to go to next level. i believe that its not the herd, but just a couple of people who's daughters have moved to the next level and just have the habit of posting in preps. nothing wrong with that, but still, we need to post these things in the appropriate forum, and i hope that everyone will abide by this request.

    Everyone has opinions

With limited time to surf I would like to see all fastpitch discussions in one place.

These are all very good points and one that we have discussed at TBR. We are working on our new forum as we speak and it will have just what you have suggested---subforums.

I believe you will like it and I know we are excited about it. After 9 years, it's time for an updated website

    Please help.

Folks posts concerning our kids that have graduated High School belong in "The Next Level" no exceptions. Please don't preface a post you know belongs in the next level with "I hope you don't mind" or "I hope its ok", we do mind and it is not ok. I don't want to come off hard nosed but we need to keep things where they belong and when the board is updated it will help, but even then things need to be in the proper area. I am a member on a few automotive forums and compared to them TBR gives a lot of leeway on posting rules

Great Idea. The Next Level forum is not well represented and our players who have had excellent softball careers at the "next level" do not get promoted well in that arena as they do in the preps area. It was like now you college girls step aside over here, maybe someone will stumble across this. But the new subforums should make this a lot better. Thanks!

Mr. Dawgfan will be happy then.
