All district

Whats the process of picking All State. Are they chosen from All district winners? Are the winners of All district sent a certificate?

 

Agreed, and congratulations to all the girls who made it. Simply put, it is not fair to the players whose coaches won't pay to play and takes away from the players whose coaches do.

 

Pay to play? Coaches don't have to pay anything to nominate players.

 

Maybe they should make sure that all coaches know this because I was told by a coach that you have to be a member of the association to nominate players. My fault for thinking I was talking to one that knew what she was talking about. It is a shame that so many high school coaches don't have a clue. Is it possible for a coach other than your high school coach to nominate someone or do they only get so many nominations per coach? I would assume if that is the case they would save those for their own players. If a coach played against an outstanding player and her coach did not nominate anyone could an opposing coach nominate her?

 

All-State

The All-State teams will be selected by the All-State committee during the State Games in Charlotte next week. To be eligible, a player must be on the All-District team in their respective Region. If a player was not nominated and selected for All-District, she is not eligible to be on the All-State team. All of the players who were chosen All-District will receive a certificate from the NCSCA. A different certificate is given to those who make the All-State Team.
There is absolutely no reason for a high school coach not to be aware of the process. The same process has been taking place for 3 years. District Chairpersons have sent letters to each school advising on how the process works. In our world today, information is just a click away. go to www.ncfastpitch.org and click. The excuse that I didn't know anything about it or you got to be a member stuff has about played itself out. Just ask somebody if you are that far back in the cave. Hopefully for the girls, some of you will one day see the light.

Nominations

Has anyone thought that maybe the coaches think the player doesn't deserve the nomination based on stats, grades, attitude or maybe the parents are harrassing the coach. Or maybe the coach just doesn't give a flip. Could be lots of things. Who knows, but one thing is certain he or she didn't nominate for their own reasons. You may want to ask them.

 

It is really sad to know that a coach/adult would hold against a child things that their parents say or do. It is stated on these boards everyday that it is all about the kids, but in reality it isn't is it? Parents must play the game. Besides the conversation is about coaches who do not nominate ANYONE on their team. Do you think that coaches from 226 schools didn't think they had one player that deserved a nomination based on stats, grades, attitude or who their parents may be. By watching some of them coach I can believe that they don't give a flip though which is what gives High School ball such a bad name.

 

I believe in most cases it just gets overlooked. I know that is the case in a couple I'm aware of. There are just too many not nominating anyone that concerns me. Maybe we need to bring this up at the same time that conference awards are being decided.

I know many kids who should have been nominated. In spite of the effort that has been made to get those nominations, I don't think it's enough. In my area, next year I'm going to be approaching those coaches that didn't nominate this year AND players to remind them.

The more publicity the All District receives the more coaches and players will participate. Maybe we could get in the local media for each region.

Tell me how many coach's who DD's play for them, that they did not nominate them?
226 coaches did not nominate players and you think it is because of stats, grades, attitude or parents harrassing the coach. Yea right!
