We had a girl throwing in the mid-90s yesterday! It's suppose to be a little cooler today, though.

.....wow! 70+ at any age is awesome. I've heard news about kids slinging the rock that fast but as long as the Fishman has been around, I've never seen it.
Oh to be sure I've seen dominant pitchers speeds pick up and mow down kids, and I'd shake my head and say, " now that pitch got to the plate fast".
Was it 60 or 70, I don't know, what I know is I could care less what the radar gun says as long as the pitcher gets the batter out.
As for 70+, well, I watched the CWS in OK City this year and not once, not one cotten picken time did the very best pitchers in college throw 70.

I'm pulling for our next generation kids to raise the bar.

As time goes on, the athletes get faster and bigger and stronger, so no doubt the time will come that we will see an increase in pitching speed by the kids.

    Good luck to all!

70 MPH is moving the tater. But it can be done.

Now that 1.6 home to 1st is something to talk about. I hope you are playing on 30 ft bases. If not, she needs to quit playing softball and start training for the 100 meters at the olympics. She could bring us a couple of gold medals.

Must have been early on when they were really fresh. Didn't see 70 hit in any of the games I've watched. In my memory the only 70 I have been able to see flash while I was watching was the girl who threw for the Japan olympic team.

    .
....cool, I wonder what they threw at 12U?

I watched DL, and I saw her pitches in the 62-67 range. No slander.

I also saw kids throwing 60 and then a 48 mph bleeder that had the batters and the umps and the cameraman look like fools.

    Raise the bar!
