Really, an exciting game. Alot of twists & turns & excitement. Thomas Berry wins it with a blast over the right-centerfield wall in the top of the 10th. Alot of good area players in this game from Wilson, Nash, & Edgecombe counties.

Was an exciting game by two good teams. Might have been some questionable balls/strikes called in the 9th but give credit to the RM kid for fouling off what seemed like a dozen pitches. One thing I have noticed in watching about 10 Legion games thus far, the strike zone seems to be much tighter than in high-school. If this is the norm, might take some getting use to by players, coaches, and fans. Personally I like the tight zone, let's hit the ball and score runs!!!!!

    Pitt County 12, Wilson 11

Andrew Douglas hit a walk-off, 3-run double Thursday at Pitt Community College, lifting Pitt County Post 39 to a 12-11 win over Wilson Post 13.

Zach Houchins hit two solo shots to stake Wilson to an 11-9 lead entering the bottom of the 9th, and Kyle Shields threw five-plus strong innings of relief before Pitt (7-1) handed Wilson (2-4) its third one-run loss of the season thus far.

Wilson, 1-1 in the Area I East North Division, will host Ahoskie Post 102 in a conference doubleheader Sunday at Hunt High School, starting at 5 p.m. Pitt County travels to Wayne County for a doubleheader Sunday, as well.

Jeremy Sloop (Nash Central-2011) did a good job for Nash County. Pitched 7 strong innings, didn't throw alot of pitches, & let his defense do the job. Nash turned 5 double plays to stop potential rallys. After a walk, & 2 hit batsmen in the first, Matthew Berry stroked a bomb to put Nash up 4-0 early, & Wilson couldn't put much together offensively to stage a comeback.

    Wilson 13, Kinston 1 (7)

Zach Lee and Travis Lucas held down the high-scoring Kinston offense, and Kyle Pittman and Zack Houchins hit back-to-back HRs to pace visiting Wilson Post 13 to a 13-1 win over Kinston Post 43. With consecutive wins, Wilson improves to 4-5 on the season heading into a conference doubleheader Saturday vs. Edenton. First pitch in Fleming Stadium is set for 4 p.m.

Zack Lee (1-0) got the win, giving up only 1 hit, & David Gibbons (4-4, with a double) helped pace that offense.
