    Heather is awesome, no doubt about it!!

    Also keep your eyes on Whitney Johnson! Plays for School of Science and Math in Durham and Cape Fear Storm.

    Kristen Krebs from Holly Springs is having an awesome tournament!

    Almost everyone had an awesome game against Region 8 today.

    Anna Cherry, Durham Jordan, put in a game-saving performance in the first game yesterday!

    Awesome kids on the team this year!

    The NCAS posted all of the first round scores but haven't updated it since then.

    Region 6 is 3-0 so far with wins over regions 4,5 and 7.

    Region 2 0

    Lexi Davis credited with the win, her 3rd of the 4 games played.

    Region 6 outscored opponents 30 - 7 over 4 games.

    Region 3 finished with a 3-1 record in the Games.

    The players can be proud of their performance and sportsmanship during the Games!

    One particular moment that I wish had been caught on camera was during a meeting of the officials and coaches at home plate when a player from Region 4 carried a cup of water to a defensive player on the field from Region 3 in a one-run game. The opposing Region 4 coach even offered water to the first base coach of Region 3. That's sportsmanship!!! We'll remember those acts of sportsmanship long after the tournament!!

    All of the Region 3 team performed well but particularly noteworthy was Whitney Johnson, Durham School of Science and Math; Megan Gibbons, West Johnston; Kristen Krebs, Holly Springs; Heather Howard, South Johnston; Anna Cherry, Jordan.

    Congratulations Region 3! Thanks for the memories!!

    Side note

    Today I witnessed one of the most memorable acts of politeness ever when Anna Cherry apologized to a bat bag she bumped into.

    Great kid with a great future!
