Rutherford County & Area 1V

    Rutherford County looks to be a force in Area 4. Don`t know if the Eastern Division has anything for the West this year. Maybe the Charlotte area teams will have a say so in that. The Road to the Area 4 championship usually runs through Cherryville.

    Cherryville was able to come back and defeat Rutherford Co. 8-1 @ home on Wed nite, after losing to Ruth Co. 11-1 @ Forest City on Tues nite.

    Injuries to guys that would have probably been starting pitchers for Cherryville have hurt. Those injuries were before Legion Ball started. There doesn't seem to be a dominant pitcher, as perhaps in recent years.

    Post 100 is fast tho, so when they are on base, they are fun to watch.

    I would think that the Rutherford Co. team was able to add a number of East Ruth HS players on their squad after they won the State Championship.

    Here are the Area IV Standings thru Yesterday. It's pretty tight thru the first 5 spots. There's definitely nobody running away with the division title. Cherryville @ Caldwell tonight

    Did'nt you guys get beat by asheville 19-9. I would'nt count your selves a force. This message comes from the East.
