Game 3 v. Diamond Devils WIN 2-1. Jeffery Springs(W)

Game 4 v. Canes South Projected Starter: Chip Helton

The 2011 SC Panthers have gotten off to a 3-0 start in pool play in the Firecracker Classic. Pool play resumes today with a winner advances game versus the Canes South.

Game 2: vs Palmetto Sand Gnats- WIN- 5-3
Game 3: vs SCP in progress--1-1 after 2 innings

Game 4: 3:45 vs Maryland Monarchs

SCP wins vs South Canes

South Charlotte wins vs Canes South.
I believe final score is: 10-2.
My contact says Bradley Morton went yard for SCP (getting text updates). Canes play again @ 1:30 but if South Charlotte is 4-0 then they won the pool and move on.

 

On Deck O's

Good Weekend for the O's, the 2011 Black team finished 3-1, and the 2011 Orange Team Finished 2-2


The Black had wins over The Pametto Elite, Canes South and the Danville Mustangs. They were lead offensively by Shell McCain who had 4 HR's in the tourney.

The 2011 Orange had wins over the Virginia Barnstormers 10-8 and CBC Army 6-5, Kevin Wentzel (Lake Norman Getting the win) Austin Hicks (Nation Ford 2 Run HR)and fell to the Steel City Wildcats, and The Heat.

 

SC Panthers

Panthers win game 4 behind solid pitching from Chip Helton (East Rutherford) and Demetrus Ingram (W. Stanly); 2 strong 2A arms.
Late break out offensively led by Blaine Lewis (Mallard Creek) who was 4 for 4 and Bradley Morton who hit his 2nd HR of the event. Enter play offs as #1 seed and will play in semis Sunday morning at Coastal.

G1: Lose in last inning to 17U Upstate Mavericks Black, 7-5 (Josh Henderson HR)
G2: Run rule 18U Dirtbags, 9-1 (Josh Sborz loses no hitter in 6th)

G4: Win vs. 17U NCBA Golden Spikes 13-8 (Josh Sborz, Kyle Moore and Josh Henderson (GS) hit HRs)

Earn #5 seed. Play Steel City Wildcats @ 8:15 tonight @ Carolina Forest.

Carolina Forest HS is a hitters dream park... surprised more HRs not posted... pitchers musta kept them in check. Sounds like an EXCITING and HOT time down there this week, though!

 

Last I heard, ACPB was 3-0 going into yesterday's game. Anyone have a score and/or info. about how they ended up and if they are playing today?
