Believe it or not, there are some schools that are needing players and are looking for the players that fell through the cracks. The opportunities are at D2 and JUCO levels. If you know of a talented player that is still searching for an opportunity, please post their name here, school attended and their accomplishments.

There are some great opportunities for one's that are still searching for a place to play.

    FYI,

the Eastern NC Senior (18u) Babe Ruth State Tourney is next weekend at CB Aycock HS.... Will probably be some uncommitted 2010's there.

I'll post more later on some specific guys I know.

good idea to bring this up braves.

Schools are losing players that are transferring, or thru academic situations.

Not one particular reason, but for many.

I think it happens more than we think each year, but what has changed is more coaches are realizing that TBR can be a good resource instead of just using the grapevine.

You're right. There's alot of different reasons. I've heard alot of guys just quitting baseball. Not getting enough playing time, or the coach cuts them loose, etc. Not liking the school, or whatever.

Cary Post 67 went undefeated in conference play this summer. They feature a few 2010 uncommitted kids that could really help a program down the road. The first three I list play for Post 67 and also played for Athens Drive HS. They were also part of the 2008 JR Legion State Champs... Will they be part of the 2010 SR Legion State Champs?

David Hamm - Hardnosed player. Left handed stick. Middle infielder with a plus arm. Will make spectacular plays look simple. Loves to compete and come out on top. Because of his attitude and competitiveness he turned into a closer for a very good high school team this spring.

Dillon Rudio - Reminds me a lot of Jeff Kent physically. 6'3 or so with some muscle. Has played a lot of 2B (jeff kent reference). Really has some pop at the plate. Was slowed his senior season by a hand/wrist injury. Not sure why he hasn't been picked up by someone yet because of his bat especally. Seems like he could develop into a collegiate OF because of his size, speed, and bat.

Gerrit Van Genderen - LHP. Who doesn't want a big strong LHP? Doesn't overpower batters but he throws strikes and has developed plus pitches to go along with his fastball. He could potentially play 1B on the next level as well, he can put some juice in the ball. LHP though is my recommendation. 2008 JR Legion State Championship Game winning pitcher.

Michael Forsythe - RHP. Not REAL familiar with him just yet but I will be coaching him this summer in babe ruth all-stars. He pitched for one of the weaker/younger teams in the league this summer he played in but managed to give his team their only 4 wins with 2 or 3 of those wins coming against the top two teams in the league. Runs it in there in the low 80's but he throws strikes and seems like a true competitor.

Michael King - 1B/OF. Tall, lanky left handed stick. Throws righty. Always finishes with a "quiet" batting average that catches people by surprise almost. That's not in disrespect to him, it's a compliment. He just gets it done at the plate!

If anyone's interested in these guys specifically, please get up with me. Braves has my contact info.

    Jeffrey Ward- So.Lee High School

Great lefty first baseman with a good lefty power bat. Finished 3rd in his class so no academic problems there. A little on the hefty side but has worked his butt off all 4 four years of high school to get faster and lose some pounds. Just loves to play ball and willing to work and work for a spot.

We played Athens Drive this year and VanGenderen pitched against us and did really well. I think he can play at the next level. MIxed pitches well against us. Good solid pitcher.

I liked Hamm too he is a hard nosed kid...
