    The 17u WWBA Championships get started down in East Cobb today. There are 11 teams from North Carolina participating in the event:

    CBC Diamond Rats Army
    CBC Diamond Rats Navy
    On Deck O's Black
    On Deck O's Orange
    Charlotte Megastars
    Carolina Cubs
    Dirtbags
    Dirtbags 17's
    Heat Showcase
    NCBA Golden Spikes
    South Charlotte Panthers

    Please post the results from each of these teams when they become available.

    Top Tier (Illinois) - 2

    Unfortunately I could not be down their with my son (Corey Bolam) this week so I am getting updates from him. He was behind the dish for this first game. My review may be a bit biased.:kid:

    He told me that Top Tier hit the ball well but could only muster a couple of runs. Unfortunately his team had one less. Game played at Fellowship Christian in Roswell, GA. Next game is Tuesday versus Marucci Elite - 11:30.

    Will try to have more stats next time.

    Jeffrey Springs (South Pointe - 2011) was scheduled to start for the Panthers. Can't tell if that actually happened or not, but Lou Trosch (East Meck - 2011) got the loss going 2 innings, 2 hits, 3 runs.

    SCP Panthers Results in WWBA Playoff Rounds

    The Perfect Game WRAP is a little off. Jeff Springs did start and went 3 1/3 giving up 1 run. Nick Silva came in for 1/3 of an inning giving up 3 before Trosch came in to finish the 4th. Trosch went the rest of the way, 2 1/3, surrendering a total of 2 Rs, 0 ERs, 2 Hits and 2Ks. He ended as the losing pitcher. The SCPs left runners stranded on 3rd several times, including the 6th (game was timed out) after a lead-off double to start the inning. Tough loss for the Panthers.
