Cherryville Post 100 info

I am really sorry that I did not start with a sentence like, "I am not an official or any type of leader of the team, Just a Fan." I was told that on Sunday night by someone that I really think knows what is going on.

If I have put this info up in error, please accept my apology. I am trying to be helpful with these posts, so I am nervous to find out if the info I had was right or wrong.

The change to Rutherford #423 is also reported in the sportstalk part of WLON 1050am part of the website www.hrnb.com.

 

Shelby make-up game rescheduled

I am not a team official, only a fan, but I was told by a member of Post 100 that works the home games, that........

The home game vs. Shelby Post 82 that was postponed earlier in the spring will be played this weekend as part of a double header at Fraley Field in Cherryville.

Game is now scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, June 27.

Cherryville will also play an already scheduled game at 7pm against a team from Tuscaloosa, AL.
I do NOT know if Shelby has another game on Sunday night.

 

Playoff update

Been away for a week or so. Here is the catch up on Post 100. If anyone cared, they probably already know.

After finishing the regular season w/a 8-6 record in the Area 4 West, tied for 3rd place with 2 other teams, Cherryville drew the 4th seed for the playoffs.

The first round saw Post 100 winning the series, 3 games to 0 over the #5 seed from the east, Lincoln Co. #455. The scores were 13-2, 9-2, 8-1.

The second round will begin either Tuesday or Wednesday and Post 100 will face the #1 seed from the East, Huntersville #321.

The first game will be played at North Mecklenburg HS. 2nd round has rotating home games.

 

Rd 2 Game 1 @ Huntersville Post 321

I believe all games can be heard on WLON-1050am from Lincolnton. Their website is www.hrnb.com.

Cherryville Post 100 entered the top of the 9th down by a score of 8-5 at N. Meck HS.

They got 2 guys on then Drew Reynolds hit a 3 run HR to tie it up @8. Several players later, C'ville has runners on 1st and 3rd. The guy on 1st starts to steal 2nd and as the throw went all they way down, the runner on 3rd took off and scored the go ahead run before all the throwing around cleared up. That put them up 9-8 and the defense held in the bottom of the 9th.

Cherryville wins 9-8 to go up 1-0 in a best of 5.

 

Rd 2 Game 2 vs Huntersville

Cherryville wins by a score of 9-3. They go up 2 - 0. Game 3 is Friday @ N. Meck HS.

I know you are doing the best you can but Daniel's last name is spelled Whitecavage.
Last night was the first time that i was able to attend a game at the Cherryville field and have to say that I really enjoyed it even though 321 lost it was nice to be able to talk with the spectaters from the other team.

Maybe his teammates were jerking him or me around, but that is what they told me. I even spelled it out loud as I wrote it down.

Rd 2 Game 3 @ Huntersville

Learned via the WLON sports show this morning that Game 3 will start from scratch. Everything will go back to zero, except for the pitching. Pitching from Friday night will count according to the guys on the show.
Game 3 @ N. Meck HS tonight @ 7:00.

 

Nugget, your doing good, but one suggestion,,,,,, it is Churavill,,,,,, not Cherryville.

In some parts, if you don't say it right, they won't know who your talking about. Tell him Luigi...

 

That's right. I live in Charlotte now and when I tell people I went to CHERRYVILLE High School I get a confused look. When I say Churvill, they say Oh yeah, I've heard of that.
