Statesville Owls Andrew Rash, RS Freshman from Virginia Tech won the home run derby last night at the SCBL All-Star game. Andrew can be seen this Saturday in action as the Statesville Owls take on the Carolina Sting. First game of this very important doubleheader starts at 5:00, gates open at 4:00.

Congrats Andrew...he's had a whale of a summer. Coming off an MVP ACC tournament, helping lead Virginia Tech to the Regionals, then picking up where he left off to have an amazing summer with the Owls.: The young man is an incredible player and even better teammate.

For those whom have never seen Andrew play, you need to come Saturday to watch.

Must've had a someone throwing him some really good BP. He seems like a great kid that really deserves everything coming his way. Some of the scouts I talked to liked him behind the plate after the pro style workout.

LOL...he wore you out huh? I agree, catching is his position. Not only he works hard back there, he knows how to handle a staff.

I think that Harold Riggins, first baseman from N.C. State was the 2010 ACC Baseball Tournament MVP. Florida State defeated N.C. State in the Championship.

Yep, you're right. Not that Riggins didn't deserve it, he was a beast, but Rash was amazing in the tournament...with the bat, his legs, his arm and his glove.
