ASA Gold Southern Nationals in Raliegh

    Any word on any of the teams that are planning to attend?

    We failed at our last chance to get to the big dance, so we are planning to attend and were just wondering who else might be there.

    Also, anyone have any suggestions on nice hotels near the fields? The site has a booking group, but there are only 3 choices.

    I am working with the City of Raleigh on this....
    Will try and get prelim list of who is coming....

    They are expecting 30-36 teams per division....

    list of teams

    Any word on that list of teams. I am worried because I have players who want to get picked up for nationals if we are not going and EVERY e-mail I have sent to anyone associated with this tournament has gone unreturned. The hotel wants me to sign a binding contract, parents need to make plans and I just want to know that some teams are signing up. I think I only say 1 NC team in a gold qualifier, so I know there will not be any "home" teams, so I am a bit worried.

    Saw applications this morning. Teams were from Florida, Mississippi, and
    Triangle Lightning, Raleigh local..

    Carolina Cardinals (Ray Chandler) is handling registration
    I know they kept the application process open until Thursday this week.

    Will provide more info as it becomes available. I am also waiting, as I
    (Grand Slam USA) is also a sponsor and vendor. (Merchandise and t-shirts)

    just got off phone with Ray Chandler
    brackets are filling up

    16 teams in the A bracket, 14 in the gold
    He expects 8-10 more over the next few days,
    lots of teams from Texas, La. Miss, Florida

    this will be a great event. Teams from all over the
    southeast
