CP 16-18's 3 Triangle 1 in ENC finals tonight

WP for CP: Michael Robinson (Washingto HS 2010 / Louiburg JC commit) 2-0 in the tournament
Leading Hitters: Christian Legette (Williamston Riverside 2011) 1-2 RBI, 1b, FC, HP ; Will Swain (Washington HS 2011) 1-3 rbi

Pitchers Duel, CP scored one in the first and one in the second before Tyler Bolten came in and shut the door for Triangle. CP was able to push across a insurance run in the 4th or 5th on a 1st and 3rd steal for the 3 to 1 final.

CP 16-18s advance to Tn. for the Southeast Regionals

Baller: CP had 11 kids eligble to come back from last year. Only two are on this team. Catcher Eric Mull and Pitcher/3rd baseman Austin Bowden. Only five were still in the league. Our top pitcher from last year redshirted this year at ECU and was sent to a college wood bat league. McDonald and five or six others played for the legion squad. Had one who will be a D1 placekicker next year and only played a few games due to fb workouts. One or two others who were still in the league would have been on this team but elected to not travel to practice or were banged up with nagging injuries. The current team is made up of mostly players from the Washington team that just joined the league this year. Overall I think last year was probabely better on paper.

Robinson from CP had our number, simple as that. It was groundball after groundball or flyball after flyball. Maybe one or two hardhit balls off of him on Monday evening. Very good pitcher.

best of luck to CP in tennessee.

    Triangle

Congrats to CPand Triangle's coaches for making it this far. I want to wish CP the best of luck in the regionals. Triangle keep your heads up, you have been to 3 straight championship games and for that you should be proud. :pleased:

Like CP 16 was saying. A large number of players off of last years Coastal Plains team that could of played another year elected to play Legion Post 39. The Post 39 team also took a few 16-17 yr old juniors that could of helped out the senior babe team.

A few of the guys off of last year's team, that would have been eligible this year, have also moved onto preparing for their college careers at their school.

Thanks CP16, What happened to young kid that threw pretty hard last year I thought he was a 16 year old cant remember his name. We figured you guys would be good in running this year. CP16 the new team is not as good as you guys were last year. I think Florida will be tuff this yr.

Congratulations to Coastal on their titles this year. I know the 18's will represent ENC well and make us all proud.

Thank you, JM, for the great coaching job you did with our team, especially given the restricted timelines we had to work with.

That "Rawdog" organization is one of the best around. I remember in 2008 when they rolled into Virginia for the southeastern regional - they looked/dressed like a college team in those khaki shorts and "Rawdog" polos. They had the swagger - and the game to back up the swagger. On top of all of that, they were the nicest group of folks.
