......in Raleigh at Walnut Creek......whats up folks?

I've seen no posts of who won this or who got whipped by our NC teams, etc.

C'Mon, hook the fishman up with some scores and a stat here or there to prop our kids!

    Raleigh updates

    Hey Fishpal,

Here is a link to the webpage with updated scores for both the A and Gold groups.

    http://www.asaraleigh.com/

Lots of NC teams still in it and putting up some good numbers. (Curve, Cardinals, Blast, Triangle Lightning, Charlotte Cobras & TFS.) Curve, Lightning, and Cobras are the only 3 teams left in the winners bracket. Hope this helps.

The NC Lady Lightning are still alive in the Gold bracket.

    Great games today!

As soon as I entered the park the first thing I hear is that the Florida Bulls should be playing in the Gold brackets, not the A brackets. After watching them battle the Florida Streamline I was kind of wondering about that myself. The Bulls scored 16 runs, a few of them homers. Streamline had some of their own, scoring 12 runs. The Bulls won and went on to play the Triangle Lightning.

I watched two complete Lightning games before having to leave in the first inning of their last game.

The Lightning played awesome softball. Pitching was great, hitting was great, defense was great.

In the game against the Bulls, the Lightning pitcher held them to 2 runs. Awesome! That Bulls team was good; the Lightning was better. CJ (Mini) Moose hit it out of the park dead centerfield for 3 runs.

I could go on and on about the way they played today; they were awesome!

This was a REAL tournament! No time limits! No drop dead! Full 7 innings! REAL competition! You didn't win unless you earned it on the field!

    North Carolina rules!! Great tournament!!

Tomorrow's games are guaranteed to be thrillers!

This is the kind of tournament softball needs! This is the kind of tournament worth hosting and sponsoring!

Thank you to all the sponsors!!!

    A Bracket:

    Champion: Carolina Curve
    Runner-Up: Charlotte Cobras
    3rd Place: Triangle Lightning
4th Place: South Florida Mini Bulls

    Gold Bracket:

    Champion: Louisville Lady Sluggers
    Runner-Up: Tennessee White Lightning
    3rd Place: Gainesville Gold

That was some softball!! Can't wait for next year!

Notice that out of those teams from all over the South, NC teams finished 1, 2, 3 in the A bracket. That's awesome! There were some really good teams there.

This kind of tournament is going to attract serious coaches!

Raleigh Parks & Rec did a great job! (Fields still need work, though! Otherwise it was great!)

Those teams that attended were good. Just a shame more teams did not attend. Except for the 2.5 mile walk from the parking lot to the fields (for the Gold tournament), I thought it was a well ran tournament.

If you were wondering why the South FL Mini Bulls were in the "A", you should have seen the Louisville Sluggers with their 9 D1 signees play and wonder how they did not win a berth to Marietta this week.

2.5 mile walk? You must have parked at Burger King. Or you possibly went through the top wheel; even then it's only 2 or 3 football fields distance.

I went there with the intention of watching the Gold bracket some but the Triangle Lightning was playing so well I couldn't tear away. 20-20 hindsight I wish I had seen at least one of their games. Wait til next year!

A lot of good comments about this tournament!!

I parked as close to the back gate as I possibly could, I can assure you while my 2.5 is an exageration, it is closer to that than 2 football fields.

Then I pull up and ask if I can drive up 150 yards to drop off the "team" equipment. The guys says "no", so I park and unload. I have to come back to the car about 30 minutes later and notice a team has pulled up and is dropping off equipment. I ask the guy why they got to pull up and unload and I didn't and he says, get this, are you ready..............."they didn't ask"
