The carolina elite and the carolina crush do a great job of this in south carolina. vicki and tammy for the crush have great connections and so does tony with the elite. Tony has 2 current 2012s committs, both to UK and Vicki's entire 18U team is signed to schools like south carolina, kentucky, fancis marion, furman, winthrop and usc upstate.

 

Cobras are a hard team to beat after all they are asa state champ and they are in Texas good luck to the Cobras.

 

White Magic is having success and will be adding a few players. Played some great tournaments this year and next years schedule is interesting.

 

How many state championships have the cobras won and how many of their players have received scholarships as compared to teams like the Blues and Wildcats???

 

I believe that if you ran the numbers the Blues, Cardinals and Wildcats would have the greatest number of kids over the past two years who have moved on to the collegiate level from NC... this is the only real yardstick that matters.

And the reality is this..... if you bat in the leadoff or 3/4/5 hole for a top organization thats all most college coaches need. The idea that they come watch a couple of games and know the players from the pretenders is simply not true. Talent is judged subjectively not objectively and when a coach sees a kid playing for a team like the Bat Busters out of Cali.. she is gonna get a D1 offer from a top notch program... saw this first hand.

Not quite that cut and dried!

Without meaning to stir this discussion up again but there are many organizations that contribute to the success of many players going on to play collegiate ball.

The organizations mentioned are very successful with the players they recruit, but there have been many helping along the way.

The NC Challengers, Triangle Lightning, Carolina Flames, Cape Fear Storm are just a few organizations that come to mind when thinking about kids successfully going on to play in college.

Everyone and every organization that helps the girls along the way are greatly appreciated! You know who you are! The girls know who you are!

 

9 off them are from AC and they have 6 state championship and all 9 will play college ball.

 

Why would you want a comparsion between the Carolina Cobras and the Blue and Wildcats. (organization vs non organization) Coach Blackwelder started the team in 2002 as a 12U team and stayed with the girls until 2009 when they aged out. In an organiztion you have a coach that may coach 18U for years, so sure they are going to have more girls that have gone to college. To compare just does not make sense.
The Cobras played very well got noticed and was able to get in all the big showcases. Of course the goal was to get the girls seen and to get the ones that wanted to play at the next level signed and thats exactly what happened.
As for state championships the Cobras won the 2008 ASA 18U State, went to the ASA 18U Nationals twice, finished 10th out of 136 teams in Texas and finished 13th in Illinois. We are very proud of what these girls accomplished. Now Coach Blackwelder along with Coach Sherrill and Coach Waugh (and several other coaches) have a new group of girls that have taken on the Cobra name and have won the 16U state this year and is the only 16U team from NC to go to Texas this year, I know that they will do well and hopefully bring home a trophy.
So it does not matter if a player decides to go with an organization or a team, she can play at the next level if she wants.
