    Some people don't need tooth fairies; but for the ones who do ... there will be something under their pillow.

    Kum bay ya, my Lord, kum bay ya;
    Kum bay ya, the Lord, kum bay ya;
    Kum bay ya, my Lord, kum bay ya,
    O Lord, kum bay ya.

    later... my journey is over. The same chips are on the same shoulders. I will let the inmates run the asylum...

    So with all your wisdom you can't answer the question? hmmmm, ok. Take away the parents and the coaches of younger years and see what you have. See if these organizations are as great as you think they are. Now go wait for the tooth fairy because it is you living in a dream world.

    For the record, ALL those organizations are great. As are ALL the people who have had a part.

    There's no chip on my shoulder, I see good in it all!

    There are many different paths to take

    to just be the devils advocate here, some teams will take credit for teaching a player who makes it to college, even though they may have just played a season or half a season for them out of maybe 8-10 seasons. i've already seen some names mentioned here of girls who have played for a multiple number of teams (one even played for me) yet the credit given to one particular team. this just doesnt seem right to me.

    this seems to happen too often now, perhaps just for bragging rights.

    as said, many people may have had a hand in teaching a kid to play ball, and it might have taken two or more coaches pushing to get a kid in college.

    but to me, the great organizations are the ones who kids come back to give a little something back....after 12 years of doing this, i still know of a few organizations that are doing this for the kids, not the money or personal fame. you just have to look a little deeper than championships and perhaps look at how long a kid stays with an organization and why.....to me, the best way to find the truth out about a team or organization is to talk to the players, both current and former....

    There's a big difference between getting college exposure a being ready to play college ball. This is why it does matter who you play for. The best programs produce players ready for college, as an athlete, a student and a person. Focus on issues like college grad rates and successful softball careers. Not necessarily the most college commitments.
