Really??? I need to talk to my daughters former coaches because I wrote a check every year for the last 3 years for her to play with the Cardinals. Obviously you do have a bone to pick as Rick said above OR you have no clue what you are talking about. I need to go now because I have to talk to some folks about refunding me the money I've paid since Tatertot thinks its free to play!:roflmao:

I don't get where you and others think I have a bone to pick with you. I'm just stating things the way I see it and I'm not saying I'm right that is just the way that I see it. I'm saying the Cardinals is an showcase organization. That is what you do. As far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with it. All I was saying was if you are a showcase organization and that is you do then you should have more girls recruited than other teams. These statements should not offend you. I said it works didn't I? I never said you weren't a fine person. From what everyone says, you are. All I said was when you pick from the best of the best the odds are in your favor to have girls recruited. That is not meant to be an insult, it is what it is. BTW, I posted this here as opposed to a pm because there seem to be others that think I'm picking on you and I'm not. There are those that are trying to make more out of what I'm saying than what I'm actually saying. My apologies if you were offended.

Let's just let it all go.

    First,
I just would like to clear the air a bit.
I did take offense to the comment "You have someone who has access to all the ASA Rosters phone numbers etc," more than anything.
I take a lot of pride in what I do. I do not and will not use my postiton with ASA to contact players. I don't have to. Players or parents are contacting me constantly for possible tryouts.
I don't question your integrity, please don't question mine.
Second, I don't charge team fees nor do I pay players to play. I don't need to. They like playing for me. I in turn enjoy helping folks out. So I sponsor my own team and use the proceeds from the tournaments I host to help out with travel, equipment, and tournament fees.
I don't know what everyone else does nor do I really care. If they have to charge team fees, that' their business, not mine.
Let's just let this crap go, please and try to keep everything on the positive side, for the benefit of the sport and the players, coaches, and parents involved.

You are right about that Scotty and Randy did have a Cobra team, that team brokeup while they were playing 14U. The had some awesome players on that team. If I remember right most of those girls went on to play for the Blues and Cardinals.

ONE OF THE BEST SHOWCASE TEAM

The Carolina Gators/Mizuno 18 gold team had all three of there seniors signe last year. All to D2 schools. The Gators are a young Team in year wise But, the coach puts the ladies first and helps them reach there goals of playing college softball. This years team is better than last years. This team is on a roll.

There needs to be "The Best" teams... what I mean by that is when there are 3,4,5 really talented teams that draw college recruiters like ants at a picnic then, all the teams that play in the same tournaments benefit from the exposure.

Too many "average at best" teams is the problem.

    Good Job

I'm kind of late to the game here but, Great thread! LOL - Let the fun begin!!!:FightenSmilie:

One other thing. Rick McHone is of unquestionable character and it makes me ill to see him constantly having to defend himself and his organization here. Need to keep it positive folks!

    2010 Class

Due to his Modesty - One thing LBlues1 didn't mention - was that the Lady Blues 2010 class had 8 players - ALL received scholarships to play Division 1 softball !
Pretty good percentage... thanks in no small part to the hard work of Rodney, Moni, Steve, Gregg and Greg! And of course, the Lady Blues reputation which brought some coaches to games that could have been watching other teams.

As you have probably learned at this point in the thread, there is no "best". But there are quite a few that are arguably the best.

    ChiliDawg......
Glad that was pointed out........Rodney, Moni, Steve, Gregg and Greg don't look for any credit or praise, but certainly deserve it..
