Found this on another board and thought I would share it. I found it to be very funny having a dd that is a pitcher

Daddies, don't let your babies grow up to be pitchers
Don't let 'em throw curveballs, change ups and drops
Make 'em be catchers, play outfield or shortstop

Daddies, don't let your babies grow up to be pitchers
You’ll never be calm once the ball leaves their palm
Even while reciting the 23rd psalm

Pitchers ain't easy to teach and yes they will preach
And they'd rather give you a pain or knees with bloodstains
    Bad arches and bruised shins

And as they run and skip to the mound
And if you don't understand her
The dance they call fast pitch continues to dumbfound

Daddies, don’t let your babies grow up to be pitchers
You’ll enjoy the game more though it may seem a bore
And the umpires calls you might even ignore

Daddies, don’t let your babies grow up to be pitchers
You’ll enjoy more the game, find less to moan
And sit in the bleacher’s with the rest of the bitcher’s
Instead of alone, beyond the fence, far from home

    HALL OF FAME

.....awesome post. So true, so true....but I've gotta say that even though my DD is not a pitcher, I'm guilty of moving out of the bleachers a time or ten. As a freshman she played SS so I sat or paced way down the leftfield line....Bam! sophomore year she was in LF and I got stuck in the bleachers with folks who were hell bent and determined to talk during the game when i wanted to WATCH the game. i made alot of friends this year.

Me to Fishman, me too. I can only hope when my youngest dd (16 months) gets older she will want to play this great game. My luck..... she'll want to be a :cheer: and then I'll have to find a form for that... lol

Oh well, I have another 2 years of TB & HS to enjoy with my oldest DD

Pretty much sums up my experience over the . . . .

last 13 years. I'm sure I have more gray hair because of it but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Nothing compares to the K for the third out in the bottom of seven; whether its rec ball, HS, travel, college or international.

Now I get relax and be the coach's Dad:sweatdrop:
