    Cressey's Article

    xpectus6,

You didn't "hi-jack" my thread. It is all about keeping our young arms safe. Thanks for posting the link.

Eric Cressey is a good resource. I have had the pleasure of communicating with Eric on a number of occasions. He is a great young mind.

If anyone wants some research articles, let me know. I can recommend a few that Eric didn't mention.

    Thanks Braves / Aroldis Chapman

Thanks Braves. Those are kind words.

I am always available for questions. Folks can contact me via my website below.

Those of you who know me personally know I am a big Cincinnati Reds fan (dating back to the Big Red Machine). With Chapman being called up today, there is a lot of hoopla going on.

As much as this pains me to say, he may be at risk for the ever famous "shoulder inflammation" DL stint due to the amount of "scap loading" that he does. It may be contributing to his ability to throw 105 mph but it may also come back to bite him. I really, really want to be wrong about this!

I do, however, like his ability to recover from this position to get the ball above his elbow (and ultimately his shoulder) at foot plant. Lets just hope his recovery ability can dissipate that anterior capsule strain.

I'd like to get your opinion on pitch counts at the different ages; throwing a curveball at a certain age, and how does one develop "perfect" mechanics as a pitcher? Heck, for that matter, what is perfect mechanics?

What I like that you do is your ability to explain to us common folks, so that we will understand.

Thank you...and if you want to start a new thread covering these topics, go right ahead.
