    By my calculations:

    91 teams X (12 players per team) = 1092 players

    - (10% bad-looking moms)---------- 109
    - (20% moms that stay home)------ 218
    = ========================== 765 good-looking moms:PubDrink:

    of which about 252.45 of them are "HOT" (.333)

    Baseball fans love their statistics!

    Just not sure the moms would want to be referenced in "TONS" - that could become a weighty issue

    The Lake Monsters 18U's went 3-0 this weekend in the Impact event at the USA Complex and have now won 5 of their last 6.

    LAKE MONSTERS 18'S

    THIS TEAM HAS NEW KIDS AND MORE PITCHING. THEY HAVE A GOOD TEAM AND CAN PLAY WITH ANYONE. THEY ADDED SOME MORE PITCHING FOR THE FALL AND THIS TEAM COULD ALWAYS HIT. NOT MANY KIDS ARE RECRUIED YET, BUT I WOULD SIGN SOME OF THESE GUYS AND TAKE A HARD LOOK AT SOME OF THE OTHER PLAYERS. THEY DEFINITELY CAN PLAY DIVISION I AND DIVISION II ALL THE STARTERS.

    $$$

    And that would be 91 teams X $500.00 Avg. = $45,000.00 tournament fees, or 1092 players x $500.00 avg (for the fall season)= $546,000.00 divided by 5 organizations = $109,000.00. So much for the recession.

    Baseball's recession-proof. Showcase baseball is good for all the local economies that host tourneys. Hotels and restaurants capitalize big-time.

    Oh no doubt.....not saying anything wrong with it......I would be willing to bet Baseball brings in more money to this state than any other sports.....including the struggling Panthers! I once heard a top AAU official say that AAU baseball brought in more money for the local economy than the Charlotte Motor Speedway........

    With the same line of reasoning, it was not that long ago that all showcase teams had to play their games out of state. Certainly helped the Atlanta, Charleston and Jefferson City tourism, but there were no tournaments to play in NC...

    I never really thought that much about the financial umbrella tournaments affect the cities, until now. But that is a very good point.

    Think about the tournament that Jeff Petty with Dynamic Baseball will have next year in the Greenville area...70 teams!!! That's a lot of parents spending a lot of money. He should be a director on the Chamber of Commerce there.
