So you are saying every kid who wanted to go to Jupiter went. What about Fort Myers. I know players who didn.t go because they knew they wouldn't play. So every player that was not on the regular roster was a pitcher.

Repost from January of this year:

'I am amazed at how quickly this thread headed to the gutter. There are a number of great showcase organizations in the state including all mentioned [in this thread] and others that weren't. The fact is that they all did a good job of doing their jobs: providing kids that want to try to play at the next level a way to showcase their talents. There are some great players and fine young men associated with all of these programs. Funny thing is that many of them play for different organizations but they still manage to be friends on and off the field and share in each other's successes. Novel concept.'

It is funny - the kids all get along and are genuinely glad for each other's successes. It's a shame the adults can't do the same. The reality is that the success of ALL of these programs is good for the kids that will come after ours.

That's what I'm sayin. And Fort Myers was an underclass event so no, not everyone went. The 2011's stayed home. You're also confused on the roster. There is a summer season/roster and a fall season/roster. Alot of kids play all the way through and some shut down for the fall. There are some guys on the fall roster that did not play during the summer. This is also not uncommon for any organization.

That is correct. The Canes DO NOT take positions players and play them over the guys that play with them every weekend. Never have in 6 years and never will. You are barking up the wrong tree. I would suggest you comment on things you have a little knowledge about.

The only reason I even post anything on this board is because Im tired of all the opinions posted with NO knowledge of the facts. Simply tired of it. Voicing ones opinion is fine but having a little knowledge about the subject you are voicing opinions on would be nice.

The Canes drew from 5 states for this showcase season. It is much more impressive what the Dirtbags did with just players from NC, in my opinion.

I think it rather impressive that the Canes draw from 5 states for the season. Oh, and don't forget Canada!

    Portia said so...

The quality of mercy is not strain'd,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.

    *******

OK, so the English dude had it figured out many moons ago. Although it could have been said a lot plainer in the good 'ole South...

"Lawd have mercy - bless it"

Play the game. Have fun. Live in the moment.

The "song" of a 50 year old burned out wannabe athlete sounds a good deal different from that of a 17 year old kid playing a game cause they love it.

ADVICE: Let 'em LOVE IT - Get over yourself and put a cork in it or MAD MAX will have you're you know what on John Boy's show!

I would be willing to umpire this 7 game showdown for free, being that it would be non-profit.:smash:
