4A west looks like may have an exciting 2nd round match up which was a very good 1st round game last year. Last year Porter Ridge played @ Alexander Central. This year there is the potential of a rematch in Indian Trail. The brackets look pretty interesting I think.

The Hibriten / W. Rowan game will be in the Semi's. However Burn's # 2 & Asheville #5 stand in the way. Rematch with Tuscola is possible.

Despite all the bitching, the NCHSAA did a great job with the parings.

I dont really like some teams playing someone they have already played in the first round. ie: Asheville and Tuscola.

    Brilliant

Yep, great job. Nice to see South Meck and Ardrey Kell in round 1. Absolutely brilliant.

I would respectfully disagree, when you look at the MIdwest 4A pod and see two conference rematches in the first round, I think they could do better. I remember a couple years ago AC and South went thru the samething. Playing a conference foe in the first round kinds takes the "state" out of the state playoffs

Agreed wildcat! It's hard for me to believe that the state can send every other sport across the state and then has to keep football to localized pods.
