Would/Should/Could the Rockies let Russell Wilson (NCSU) test the NFL waters?

    November 23: Lebron James

What did you think of Lebron when he was in Cleveland and did your opinion change after his intro show in Miami? Another role model taking the low road?

    Russell Wilson---play baseball

Lebron James---play baseball: and yes, I didn't like the attention he clamored with his move to Miami; and his commercial "what should I do" was a promotional failure. But I like the guy! He's not arrogant (outside of that commercial.)

I'm not a big fan of Lebron James. I think he short-changed Cleveland in the playoffs last year before his departure. I didn't like the fact that ESPN turned his team selection into a hour long special either. To me, they should have sent a reporter to the news conference to ask questions like any other news organization would. The way that was handled was strange. Regardless, he's one of the best in the NBA, but we're finding out that his team has got a ways to go to challenge for the title. The Miami Heat aren't a very good team yet, and it may take a couple years before they challenge for the championship. They need a better supporting cast behind the big 3.

never had an opinion of Lebron in Cleveland outside of him being an outstanding basketball player. he was never in the headlines for ignorance like so many other professional athletes, so i reserved my opinion for his playing ability only.

after "The Decision," which I admit was driven hard by ESPN, i can't say i'm a huge fan of Lebron James. any time you put yourself above the game, i have a problem with it. as if the NBA would be nothing without him, he had the nerve to make an entire hour long segment about HIM. there were plenty of other basketball news stories that will turn out to be just as significant as where he decided to play. how about Team USA which he declined to play for? or the star of that team, Kevin Durant, showing what a superstar he really is?

Lebron James thinks way too highly of himself and that's not something that i enjoy seeing.

Going back to yesterday's topic, could anyone see Derek Jeter treating his free agency in that manner? No chance.

Lebron is a talented athlete, but he is not as cool as he tends to think he is.

    Hear-Hear, B&B. I agree 100%

Derek would never allow himself to appear in a Nike commercial like that, much less a 5 minute self promotion with ESPN.

The only commercial I can imagine Derek doing is singing a song:```in a Frank Sinatra voice~~ "I did it Myyyyyy wayyyyyy!" :cucumber::cucumber:

LeBron James did what the rest of us would do, he went to the $$$$$. I don't blame him. Blame ESPN for all the hype, not LJ. And i don't think you can compare Jeter and James. James played in Cleveland. Had he been eschewing the Lakers, it would be big news as comparative to Jeter leaving the Yankees.
But cut James some slack, he was able to work the system in his favor so that he can play with his two best friends and make megacoin, get the hell out of Cleveland(which ranks just behind a sewer in fine places to live), and go to South Beach

Breeze i agree totally with you. Lebron did what most of us would do if we were in that situation. I do think he could have handle the situation better as far as all the promotion that ESPN was doing. I think all us at one time has left one job for a better paying and a percieve better enviroment job. He was once loved and considered the best thing in cleveland at one time and i can't believe Lebron all of sudden changed from the person. who he was thought to be when he was in cleveland. I have never been a big Lebron fan but some of this hatred he gets is hard for me to understand. I have always been a Derek Jeter fan and love the way he plays the game.It is amazing how different the press treats you if they like you. All you Yankee and Jeter fans if you go back and look closely you will find where he hasn't always been the model citizen. He has been in trouble and investigated for domestic violence and tax evasion. i said this just to to remind us how easy it is to get perceptions of people be it good or bad.

    November 24: Bristol Palin

If dancing is a sport, is Bristol a great athlete or did she pull the wool over our eyes to make it to the finals?
