I'm not real familiar with them but the conference is always pretty strong. Leesville always plays tough and has a good coach/program. Seems like Broughton graduated a few guys who were strong for them last year. Millbrook lost a few guys (Hanks twins and Abbott come to mind) that should hurt. Enloe's got a new coach, right? Coach Laughlin at Sanderson is very good but it may take some time before he has another senior class like he did a couple years ago.. those guys were good. I like the Adams kid a lot for Sanderson but how much pitching do they have coming up? WFR? Wakefield's always capable of winning the conference, no matter what... Coach Hall is one of the best.

    Sanderson Pitching

Sanderson will have back Joel Haran on the mound. He is a Junior and made several impressive starts on varsity as a Sophmore. Tom Priester is also back, another Junior, lead the team in wins last season. They have been fortunate to get 2 Junior transfers that will be a big help. Looks as if 2 pitchers (both Sophmores) from a 13-8 JV may be cming up this season. Look for an improved 2011 team and an even stronger 2012 team.

    No lights

at Broughton, don't think there wil ever be either. I believe there was an agreeement with the nieghborhood HOA to not install lights onthe baseball field when the built the football stadium. The outfield is in bad shape too, football practice has taken its toll on that.

    Sanderson a year way?

Being removed from high school baseball a few years I can only add but so much. From what I have seen and heard, Sanderson will be primarily made up with juniors and sophmores in 2011. Their JV team in 2010 was very successful by JV standards. I know nothing about any transfers in. They should be able to return to the playoffs this year after a year off and I look for them to make noise in 2012.

    Go Spartans!

That stinks. I know of one triangle school who's outfield is eat up because of football, soccer, AND lacrosse. And people wonder why the OF looks like trash until mid-summer?

    AGREED 100%

The Spartans will be young again, but are returning a lot of kids who played alot last season. I only know of 2 Seniors that played significant innings last season, but their Junior class has gotten better witht he 2 transfers. The JV team consitied of 13 freshmen and 3 sophmores last season. All of the starters were freshmen, so look for the Spartans to compete for several more years!!

Looks like Enloe kicked off the season with a 13-1 win over Southeast Raleigh yesterday.

    Games 3/1:

    Enloe at Durham Jordan
    WFR at E Wake
    Leesville at Panther Creek
    Heritage at Knightdale
    Broughton at Garner
    Wakefield at Durham Riverside

    Games 3/2:

    Cary at Sanderson
    Heritage at Panther Creek

This info has been gathered off of Maxpreps, so I hope it is correct. Darn glad that baseball season is finally here!!!
