Good luck finding those volunteer "quality coaches." Even paid "quality coaches" will be difficult to find if they are paid what teacher coaches are paid.

Again I'll say that the majority of HS coaches are in it for the right reasons. As part of their education they are also taught how to deal with kids. Learning how to coach softball is not beyond their capabilities.

there have been no rumblings up your way about spring sports so I dont know the scenario in Meck... wouldnt it go to a pay to play before they cut it out altogether?

one last about the coaching. All I care about is that the coach has a passion. I can name two I know of that do: Derrick Hill and Monte Sherrill. I dont think its any accident that they compete for a state championship every year.

If Monte Sherrill's response to his final game last year is any indication I don't think you will find anyone more passionate this season. I would love to be at every one of his practices!

What a joke!!!!! Parents need to be parents and teachers be teachers and then let the HS AD hire a teacher to coach any sport period.

A volunteer is a volunteer....and not THE coach. Ok, Ok,,we all know that the guy on the bucket is calling the shots but in the end isn't this the REAL problem? Ya'll bitch about a teacher with no real knowledge ( thats your opinion) , and then ya'll bitch about the volunteer coach playing his kid before yours.

Next thing you'll hear is that the stud HS coaches didn't produce the players, but the TB circuit did.

This scenario has played itself out folks.

    Let it go!

    Luv ya'll!

    Merry Christmas,
