Do not know who the top 2A team is but in the final 2010 2A rankings 4 of the top 10 are in the East Central Conference. 2011 may be even tougher. Are any other conferences represented as well ?

2A- I believe CD(Central Davidson ) needs to be in the top 5. I would not count them out yet. Still good pitchers and hitters.(Working Hard)
3A- East Rowan still working hard.
4A- North Davidson will still give someone a run. Lake Norman and Alexander Central.

    Ony a guess. :hypocrite:

    In Agreement with Knights10

As I posted back on 11/2, I believe CD should be very strong again this year. Let's not forget that 2A CD beat 3A SWR last year. Therefore, I think it is safe to say that they "could possibly beat them" again.

    GO "SIXBURGH"!!!

I'll try and give a report on Caldwell county as best I can.

South Caldwell. We should be pretty good this year with solid pitching and several good position players. Our freshman class is pretty strong and the only question mark is how many upper classmen we will have coming out. Our conference is loaded with pitching, Alexander, Foard and Hibriten all have outstanding pitching so we should have some good test through out the conference. We also have a very good pitcher who will keep us in every game.

Hibriten. I know they lost a lot of senoirs last year but they still have their pitcher and she is a good one. Most of their girls played travelball together this year so experience for them won't be a problem. Don't know if them or anyone else will beat Foard for the 3A conference crown but I give them the best shot over the other 3A schools.

West Caldwell. They have just never developed a program over there. Not sure why but I don't even know if they have a pitcher. Look for them to have another long season.

    A Virtual Unknown

No one has ever heard of Northern Guilford's softball team. Their football team won the state championship, beat 4 conference champions on the road..Looking at the predictions and the polls they were not mentioned or near the bottom of the hype.
I know the football success is and shouldn't be a reflection on the softball team, but they are a very talented softball team. . They start the season playing North Davidson and the remaining schedule is strong. They also have two excellent pitchers and players that can hit . Rumor has it, one is being looked at by Carolina. The SS signed with Furman. They have a new coach this year that started for 8th ranked Lenior Rhyne. Watch out for this 3A Conference threat. You heard it here.

I agree about the 2A division

I agree with Knights10 about CD(Central Davidson). Don't count them out. They return both pitchers who has played TB ALL summer long and into the fall months. CD has a very sharp coach with Poindexter. He is a great fit for coaching these girls. He is a great role model on and off the field. So let's not count them out. Remember last year, people who follow softball didn't expect to see CD back in Raleigh... but they made it and has done so for the past 5 years in a row.... 3 straight state champs and 2 runner-ups is not a bad resume.
