With the opening of Heritage High School, what effects do you think this will have on Wakefield, Millbrook, and Wake-Forest Roseville? And if Wake County opens a High School in Roseville, what then?

The same mess that has happened to schools like Cary and Apex with all the new schools in that area over the last 10 or so years. It will suck a lot of athletes out of the programs and they will go through growing pains until they get some older guys in the hallways.

    And then there's Holly Springs

It was amazing how quickly they became a powerhouse.

Cuthbertson HS had their first season last year.....they were loaded with talent. This year, the 2nd in existence, they will be a tuff game for anybody.

Marvin Ridge has been competitive since day one. Most of the players from both schools were slated to be at Weddington prior to them opening up.

The nice thing is Weddington has stayed very strong in spite of losing many talented players.

Ardrey kell was very competitive in their first year and have gone on to win several state titles (coming out of the ultra strong SW4A).

Just because a new school opens, doesn't mean they will not be any good.

I guess it depends on what grades they open with. Holly Springs opened with just freshmen and sophomores, correct?

Did Ardrey Kell and others out that way open like that or did they start with some upperclassmen as well?

Cuthbertson opened with a Junior class. They had two junior pitchers ; Hendel signed with UNC, and Morrison signed with TCU. A nice way to start a program!!

I believe Marvin Ridge started with a Junior class as well. Not sure about AK, but my gut says they started with a Junior class as well.

There you have it. Didn't hurt Holly Springs that they opened with guys like Carlos Rodon and Justin Manning.... And Jesse Sykes and Kyle Byrd and Kendal Thorpe and Wes Conover and....
