Green Hope won 4-3 over South Johnston in their scrimmage today. Max Povse, Daniel Sondag, and Anthony Colantino each threw two innings for GH, with Jonathon Grudee pitching the 7th. I don't recall any offensive specifics. South Johnston's starter looked pretty solid, I believe someone said he is an NCSU commit, but not positive on that.

GH starts their season at home against Athens Drive on March 1st.

Green Hope played South Johnston on Tuesday and Holly Springs played Wake Forest Rollesville tonight. Holly Springs won tonight easily. At least 10 scouts were there on Sat and 5 there tonight to watch Carlos.

    Middle Creek suspends 3

Middle Creek had 3 players released from the team today including their 2nd baseman and #2 pitcher.

I guess the problem at HSHS found it's way over to MC...not good for either program. May make the race even more wide open...

Athens Drive won last night against East Wake. Don't know for sure the final but it was approx 7-0. Patrick Graham went 4-4 with a double, single and two HR and was the winning pitcher. Eric Berger also went long for Athens.

Athens Drive always plays hard in the Tri-9. If they get off to a fast start, they won't look back. The Middle Creek problem will take care of itself and the team may even be stronger as a result. I keep hearing from some that Cary will dominate the Tri-9. I just don't know. Any news from Lee Co? They are always a well-coached team.

Cary? You can not be serious. With what pitching and leadership? They do not have one pitcher on varsity that is well experienced (Matt Drew threw some last year) or throws over 74mph. They are also on their 4th coach in 4 years. They CAN swing the bat though with Sanchez, Lapp, Robinson, and McCauley. But I am afraid 4 decent hitters are not enough to win in the Tri-9 or make a lot of noise. Anything higher than 8th place would really surprise me and most everyone else in the league.

Athens has a chance to be good since they always have some good talent thanks to the West Raleigh program but outside of Williams, who do they have on the bump to compete?

I've heard the MC issue is nowhere near as accurate as some have reported. In fact, I've heard nobody has been kicked off at all and the three players mentioned above are still with the team but have been punished. How severe? Who knows, probably only those involved (the way it should be). Thompson runs a program the way a program should be run.

This years conference is tough to predict... Mainly because of the Apex transfers. How good are they? Who will step up as Frye's parter in crime at Lee? How far can Braswell and Long carry Fuquay? Are the injuries/trouble at HS too much to overcome or can Rodon/Manning do enough to win the league theirselves? How will Boyd and Brown handle things at MC? Can Povse, Sondag, and Colantino run the show at GH after losing Bogosian, Shambley, and Pistachio?

Lots of questions but one thing's for sure... The conference is loaded again.

Middle Creek traveling to Holly Springs on Tuesday night to get things started with a boom. Other opening night games are Cary @ Fuquay, and Green Hope @ Athens Drive.

Great response. Let's leave this one alone. It's being taken care of internally. Speculation and rumors will only hurt people.
