Hickory Ridge bests Sun Valley 10 to 8. Leading 8 to 1 when starting pitcher Zach Andrews was lifted. Sun Valley came back to tie it up but Da Bulls scored 2 to win. Not at the game so I am depending on "my source" for the info. Bulls host Rocky River tomorrow at home.

Wonders back up catcher Ryan Austin (SO) throws a perfect game in a 10-0 JV win @ Salisbury. The game ended after 5 complete, but congratulations to a fine performance by th entire team! Austin threw only 56 pitches and recorded 8 k's.

Most of these boys are sophomores, a few juniors...

I'm sure I missed a few, but wow, these fine young men have make a nice impact to their teams both athletically and academically. As far as I know,
most carry a 3.3 to 4.3 GPA. As we grew up together each player agreed to "Win or Lose" to play for "HIS" Glory. We would not have had it any other way.

Special thanks to Head Coaches Jerry Schellhorn, Jimmy Hummel
assistants Gary Larson and Dave Eisenbath

Thanks for listening to a proud daddy brag, hope everyone's season remains safe and prosperous. See ya at the field.

HR led 2-1 when SV's starter was pulled. HR added one in the fifth against SV's sophomore reliever, then 2 HBPs, 2 errors and a huge triple by Blake Sides plated 5 in the top of the sixth pushing the score to 8-1. However, Sun Valley plated 7 in the bottom of the sixth, all with two outs, highlighted by Chris Timberlake's first pitch 2 run HR to tie the score at 8. In the seventh, the lead off hitter for HR struck out. Then, Jarrod Brown hit what should have been a routine F7 for the second out. However, the left fielder dropped the ball. SV argued that it was a catch and drop on the transfer to no avail. Zach Andrews then flew out to short center field stranding Brown at third, but Sides then hit a 2B to plate Brown, followed by Casteneda, who doubled plating Sides. SV managed a runner in the seventh but failed to score. Wild game for both teams.

Hough wins 9-6 over Robinson. No details unfortunately, as I was at the Hough JV game (Hough JV won 12-0 in 5 innings if anyone is interested).

    Hough 4 Kannapolis 2

Dylan May went 4 strong, allowing 2 runs (1 ER) in the loss. I was impressed with Hough as a team, they battled for the 4 runs they scored. Kannapolis had runners on second with no outs in 2nd and 3rd innings, but failed to score. Solid job by umpires in this game!
