I left in the top of the 7th with Hopewell leading 3-1. Jordan Blair pitched very well for Hopewell after a bit of a shaky start. Hopewell scored one and maybe two of its runs on the "rattle" play and followed one of those plays with a well executed squeeze bunt by Cody Strickland.

Don't know the final outcome, wasn't in the paper....

    Final/11 innings

West Brunswick has played 2 games and both extra innings. Just cant seem to catch a break. Hunter Allen lead the way offensively hitting a homerun for the young West Brunswick team who only starts 3 seniors. West will be back in action Wednesday at Wilmington Ashley

    WB: 0-2

Any coach worth a crap knows better than to act like this on balls/strikes, and the ER head coach is simply one of the best coaches in the area, PERIOD. If you noticed while this was going on, the HC was staying miles away down at the other end of the dugout with his arms crossed (like nothing going on). This was nothing more than an attempt to pump life into their players, and it worked, ER rallied and lost on a game-ending double play.

As for any bumping, well they aint no room for that so I aint defending that. All I can say is Ive watched those guys a lot over the years, and they know how to act, but we all do things sometimes we'd like to do over.

Btw, this little incident should not take away from the fact that this was a great game. Hopefully someone will post the status of Will Sapp (injured on CF collision) who is a tremendous player. Big win for NW this early in the season. These teams will meet again, Im sure.

    Lake Norman vs Alexander Central:

LaSalle (Luke) who homered in the 7th for Alexander Central has also committed to play at Appalachian State. Have a pretty good feeling that LaSalle and Thurber are going to do GREAT things at Appalachian State!!

West Brunswick is a much better team than the score indicates. They will turn it around!
