Hunt maybe one of the best teams in the East along with EW, Southern Wayne. They beat Aycock 7-5 again. Aycock is still juggling players around since two starters form last years team are out. Hopefully they can get them two guys back for the playoffs and make a run. Don't look good.

Watched South Wayne play. A well-coached team that will do very well in the conference. Could be a strong contender in the playoffs.

Hunt & Aycock are both very good. Aycock will be in the thick of things in their conference. No need to worry about losing to Hunt.

Southern Wayne is alot like Nash Central in the Big East. Both return alot of players and have a solid line-up from top to bottom. Good coaching, also. Wouldn't surprise me to see either team win their respective conference and make a deep run in the playoffs.

    Nearing the halfway point :

The ECC dove into it's conference schedule long ago, so the pecking order is shaping up already.

    1. C. B. Aycock 5-0 ECC 9-2 overall (only 2 losses were to Hunt)
    2. Eastern Wayne 3-1 ECC 6-3 overall (losses to Hunt, Aycock, & SC)
    2. Southern Wayne 3-1 ECC 6-3 overall (losses to EW, Rose, & R. Mount)
    2. North Lenoir 3-1 ECC 7-1 overall (lost to Aycock)
    5. Triton 1-3 ECC 5-4
    6. S. Johnston 0-4 ECC 2-8
    7. Cleveland 0-5 ECC ?

Aycock, Eastern Wayne, & Southern Wayne are all very capable of winning this conference. North Lenoir probadly settles in at #4 when the smoke clears. They have yet to play either Southern or Eastern Wayne.

Watch out for Aycock when they get there whole team healthy. They still have 2 starter out from last years team. Stafford is finally coming around. He had a late start. They been winning only better when the full team is back.

    ECC Winding Down:

    Aycock Takes First:

    1. C.B. Aycock 10-1 (15-3 overall)
    2. North Lenoir 7-3 (13-3 overall)
    2. Southern Wayne 7-3 (11-5 overall)
    3. Eastern Wayne 6-4 (10-6 overall)
    5. South Johnston 5-6 (8-10 overall)
    6. Triton 2-9 (8-10)
    7. Cleveland 0-11 (0-14)

A couple of conference games remaining & then a conference tourney. Not sure how the tourney effects the seedings for the conference.
