Athens Drive beat Lee County 8-3 last night. Sorry, but I don't have any details.

Not certain, but I'm pretty sure Holly Springs at Panther Creek and Garner at Middle Creek were rained out last night.

Apex plays at Fuquay-Varina at 5 tonight.

Edit: I found out after arriving game time was actually 6.

An excellent game to watch between Fuquay and Apex tonight, with Fuquay coming out on top 5-4.

I do not know a lot of the players, but I wrote most of the numbers and last names down.

Fuquay got on the board early with 2 runs in the bottom of the first. Apex answered back in the top of the second with 2 runs of their own. Things went quiet and turned into a pitchers duel until the 6th when Apex put another one on the board to take the lead. However, Fuquay immediately answered back in the bottom half of the inning with a 2-run home run by #11 Kelley over the big wall in left field. An additional insurance run was scored by #14 Stevens from the bat of #10 Suggs. Apex almost came back in the bottom of the inning, scoring one run and leaving another man on base.

Starting for Apex was #24 Tetula, who went 5 1/3 innings with 3 ER and 5 Ks. He was relieved by #2 Dillon Edwards who gave up 1 run while finishing the 6th. Not sure if the run was earned or not (massive pop-up that got above the lights).

Travis Long started for Fuquay, pitching 6 innings with 2 ER and 10 Ks. #15 Austin Yarborough (sp?) pitched the 7th, striking out 1 and giving up 1 unearned runs.

Two things I'd like to say about Fuquays field, unrelated to the outfield fence:
    1. The mound is definitely not regulation. It could give a pitcher altitude sickness.
    2. The lights are not the best. I counted 4 errors, 2 of which were because players seemed to lose the ball in the lights.

Apex gets their first loss, going to 2-1 in conference, 3-1 overall. Fuquay moves to 3-0 in conference, 5-1 overall.

Cox Mill 6 Mount Pleasant 5

At Mount Pleasant, Cox Mill jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then held on for an exciting 6 - 5 win. The early key hit was a Travis Watkins 3 run home run off Grayson Atwood in the 3rd inning. Watkins, DJ Smith and Robert Erdie all pitched well for the Chargers who improved to 1 & 1 in the SPC and 2 & 2 overall.
