    Hopewell 13 Northwest Cabarrus 14

    Hopewell 13 Northwest Cabarrus 14

Hopewell's bats came to life tonight but it wasn't enough to stop a potent Northwest Cabarrus offense. The Titans offense combined for 13 hits led by:
    Cameron Underwood 3/3 3B 4 runs scored
Michael Russell 3/5 HR 5 RBI
    Justin Hammond 1/4 2B 2 RBI
    Hunter Conley 1/4 2B 2 RBI
    John Auten 2/4 2-2B 2 RBI
    Mitch Nowicki 1/3 2B
    Dylan Watts 1/1 RBI
    Vernon Carr 1/2

The Titans are in action tomorrow when they host the Blue Devils of Mooresville.

Titanball...did you see Russells ball go under the fence? If it went over it would have bounced up against the metal building. Instead it was nessled up about one foot under the fence covered in dirt from the warning track.:yamyam:

Way too many errors last night and none of the pitchers showed up. Seems like the pitchers are way behind the hitters this year and that is unusual in the early season. Glad we are changing bats!!! :pepper:

The ball has to go over the fence? I thought under was ok..........:rolleyes2: it's harder to get it to land in that small space under the fence than the big space over it.

Hopewell and NW mirrored each other last night. Neither teams pitchers did well, but both teams are very capable at the plate, both teams had 13 hits and when one team got an advantage the other team stepped up and answered. As far as Russell's homerun, if the ump had been paying attention and not turned his head as soon as the ball disappeared into the white sign, he would have seen the cloud of dust pop up and both NW outfielders immediately raise their arms.
