Couple of Cap 8 scores from today:

Sanderson over Millbrook 14-8....Great job today by soph. Tyler Hardee who pitched 6 innings in relief to get the win.....6 hits and 3 runs...only 2 earned. Soph. Cas Silber had a grand slam in the first inning.

    Wakefield over Leesville 8-5.

Will update other games as I find the info.

Shaping up as a tight race

Nice job by the Spartan sophs! I saw the Spartans play last week and they sure can swing those bats. Pitching staff is young but they sure are getting the job done.

Looks like we may have a race brewing in the CAP 8. We will see a shake up in the standings after tomorrow's games.

I'll see you tomorrow at Spartan Field at Optimist Park for the game vs the Leesville Pride. Should be a good size crowd if the rain stays away.

    Go Spartans.

    Results from 3/24:

Sanderson over Leesville 5-2. Junior Tom Priester pitches a great game for the Spartans throwing 6 shutout innings before tiring a bit in the 7th. Joel Haran, another Jr. comes in with the bases loaded to pick up the save.

    Wakefield over Wake Forest-Rolesville 4-2
    Millbrook over Heritage 6-3
    Broughton over Enloe 4-3

got to feel bad for Enloe, 0-4 in the conference 3 losses by 1 run and the other loss in extra innings. From what I have seen it can be anybodies race this year, will make for a good finish to the cap 8 this year,

Definitely agree. From what I have seen so far, the pitching is good in the league this season, but not as overpowering or maybe as deep as previous seasons. I do believe that there are a ton of very good bats in the Cap 8 which can make for some very interesting games...guys who will make a pitcher pay for a mistake. There are at least 6 teams who could compete for playoff spots. It is all going to depend on which teams continue to improve as the season progresses.
