Eastern Wayne 5 Wilson Hunt 3

    Hunter Barnett gets the W!

Cory Nygard was 3-4, Parker Lamm 2-4, Jacob Page 2-4, & Ches Lamm 2-4 to lead Hunt. Hunt had 13 hits overall, but stranded 10 along the way.
Maybe someone from Goldsboro can fill in the hitters from Eastern Wayne.

Eastern Wayne moves to 7-3 on the season, while Hunt drops to 7-2.

    Beddingfield 4 Kinston 3

Lloyd Davis (2-0) gets the W!

Beddingfield now 6-4 for the year.

Pitchers duel for sure yesterday. Game started at 4:30 and we were heading into the 7th at 5:30. Davis had thrown 51 pitches through 6 i believe. Blake Herring had given up one hit through 6 and was down 3-0. Good competitive game, unfortunately we didnt come out on top.

Sounded like a good game. I'd much rather see a pitchers duel than a slugfest.

    Cuthbertson over UA

5 inning game that was too many to too little. Wouldn't usually do a wrap on a game like this, but while the team played very well, overall, a few of boys had strong performances.
    1) Jr. pitcher Andrew Strong threw his first game for Cuthbertson HS and went all five innings with 4 Hits, 6 K's, o walks, and 0 runs.
    2) In the second inning alone, John Mangum and Andrew Hendel both hit grandslams.
    3) Not to be outdone, Peter Hendel (UNC) hit 2 homeruns. 1 from each side!
So far Cuthbertson has a record of 5 - 1. In all 6 games, only 1 run has been scored against the team and that was a great game. If it doesn't rain, Cuthbertson has Parkwood tomorrow at 1:00 PM. The new dugouts are now in so we can start playing within the "friendly confines" of Cavalier Stadium.
